Sky Sports changing next week

Post by ClaretTony » Mon Jul 10, 2017 10:51 am

Not really - just giving new names to the channels rather than 1 to 5.

There will be Sky Sports Premier League, Sky Sports Football, Sky Sports Cricket, Sky Sports Golf & Sky Sports Action.

Think it is a good idea as you will able to just subscribe to the football channels if you want which I read as 1 and 2 and pay less for the subscription.

Good to see there are concerns at Sky how to keep people from leaving and have come up with a cheaper alternative as an option.

That I didn't know, it just reads like a name change. I'd certainly want to keep the football and cricket channels but would happily ditch f1.

Don't worry. I'm sure they'll manage to shave £2 per month off your subscription for dropping F1.

Just the other £78 left to find, now... ;)

My understanding is you only get the main event if you have all the sports channels.

Swapped to BT last month. Saving over £30 per month and that's with BT UHD sport (and all their sport HD channels) and Sky Sports 1&2 included.

Will this mean kodi wont work? I have for awhile thought they would find away to block streaming on other devices.

I've only just got to know the way that they changed from the last time.

I now need to remember 2,3,4 & 5 which even with my memory shouldn't prove too difficult.

Ditched Sky Sports ages ago as I watch mainly motor sport which is mostly on BT sport, managed to get BT sport for £15 month for 18 months. I have the old HD package and still get the F1 channel for an extra£4 month so won't make any difference to me.

You have been out of Scotland too long if you are paying for 12 months when 6 months is available

It would be nice if the BBC did this and put all the football on one channel. At the present the annoying habit of interupting the commentary to cover formula 1.rugby.horse racing and athletics is poor.
Why not put all these minority sports on their own channel.?

If you have Sky be sure to check your bills. Twice now they've added features to my account for an increase in price without my consent. Once, it can be classed as an accident. Twice, and there's quite clearly something going on where they're hoping I don't notice.

That's not how I understood it at all. I got an email saying from June we would get all sky sports channels free for 5 months well mot free we currently pay £14 per month for sky sports but that we get all these extra channels free until November then that part of the package goes up to £27.50. I rang them to discuss and they basically said do nothing til November then call us back if you only want the football channels.

Sky wont give us much of a discount for footy channels only packages, they are too greedy for that lol

Hmm will have to give them a ring then when the changes are done.

Currently, if I get rid of sports they claim I'll lose all the HD channels.
I'm wondering that's still going to be the case

On the contrary,I think this is Sky admitting a modicum of defeat due to the way PL games are sliced up globally, hence a rethink in pricing structure

It's a bit of a joke still having to pay for HD channels on top of the sport subscription. Particularly when the quality of SD has obviously been downgraded.

I've not gone SHD yet but might do later this year.

Only thing I'd change with Sky is upgrade to a Sky Q box. Big problem is that I have so much recorded still to watch so no upgrade for me
