The problem is there is very little to discuss other than how wrong the OP is.Devils_Advocate wrote:Totally agree BOT exactly the point I was trying make to Sid. Each to their own opinion and an open platform to discuss
He's (wrongly) taken the negative side of something yet again, as has been pointed out.
It would be gross negligence on the recruitment team's part, if we just had one possible target for one specific position.

The OP is generally negative about the club, that's always clear.

Re: So we blew the Robertson deal .
In fact more than a few of us have accused the club of spending too long chasing one player, seemingly without an alternative and in this instance they've had another option and signed one of the 2 choices up very quickly so they aren't spending all summer chasing one player.
They should be applauded, not berated.

Re: So we blew the Robertson deal .
However wrong or negative his opinion is its hardly something to be depressed about as one posted stated.
We've even recently had the editor of the site posting that some board members have been getting upset about a certain posters football opinions and stating if it continues he will have will do something about it.
Now come on really those poor upset posters and site editor seem to be the ones Sid should be giving his advice to about being on the internet

Oh right, it's just clicked now.
You mean Ablue yes?
He doesn't have opinions about Burnley FC, he's just a bored ornithologist and gardener.
For someone of his age, it's quite sad how he uses and comes across on this message board.

Re: So we blew the Robertson deal .
Maybe but its equally as sad for people to get so worked up about him to the point of censoring his opinion and banning him. Its only a message board and Burnley FC isnt the bee all and end all of everything in life
Anyway my point that started this discussion was Sid telling the OP if he doesnt expect the read stuff he doesnt like then the internet is not for him and i was just showing its a bullsh*t argument as it works on both sides of the coin as the Ablue scenario clearly shows
I can actually understand peoples frustration when a poster continuously hijacks nearly every thread just to ruin them but Ablue doesn't do that. Are you seriously telling me people shouldn't be grown up enough that if they dont like Ablue and his threads to just ignore them and not to bother clicking on them?

It would be hilarious to have us all in one room, positive folk on one side and the negative posters on the other side

So obviously by that statement you agree Robertson was the number one target then , which was sort of my point , thanks , but be careful you be cast as negative if you carry on agree with me .Sidney1st wrote:In fact more than a few of us have accused the club of spending too long chasing one player, seemingly without an alternative and in this instance they've had another option and signed one of the 2 choices up very quickly so they aren't spending all summer chasing one player.

Just under 10,000 posts at nearly 19 a day suggests Joey's got a pointSidney1st wrote:Can't be me you're talking about.
I went out at half 6 this morning and didn't get home until about 2pm today.
I'll need to check what time my first comment was.
Same with during the week, I'm busy at work.
So were you happy with the Taylor signing?

Re: So we blew the Robertson deal .
I haven't said he was number one option.
A club can have more than one option and either would be perfectly fine in most cases.
Yes there are players who're the preferred choice and we don't really know if Robertson was first choice this summer.
He was in January, but the fact we've gone out and signed the lad from Leeds would imply the club wasn't that fussed about which one of the two signed.

Re: So we blew the Robertson deal .
Yeah I post a lot on here ,I post a lot more on other sites.
Are we making this about me now because I suggested Joey needs to get more from life?
I get plenty from life, which is why I'm clearly and generally more cheerful about things then a number of posters on here, I don't need to take advice about it, but thanks for the concern.

You're correct, it isn't the be all and end all of everything in life. But for this very tiny part of the internet it is the be all and end all for some folk.Devils_Advocate wrote:Maybe but its equally as sad for people to get so worked up about him to the point of censoring his opinion and banning him. You're also correct that people who get frustrated with him should avoid his threads. Although when he logs on in when in a spamming mood, then that can take some avoiding.
He's a boring repetitive man who should embrace this board for what it is, and that shouldn't be boring and repetitive.

I think some people would've preferred it if the club had wasted their time chasing Robertson and then missed out on Taylor so they could complain.boatshed bill wrote:Which is where he was always going.

Re: So we blew the Robertson deal .
Maybe after weighing up all options Taylor was deemed our best option and we stopped pursuing. Maybe we knew that he was signing for Liverpool and didn't go beyond making an enquiry or initial bid why did we have to blow the deal just because he didn't sign for us.

Here's a thought if you don't like a thread don't comment on it , pretty simple really .Quicknick wrote:We've bought a very good player in Taylor. Why the thread?
