Ten pints and a Ruby to finish. Or a kebab if you're under 35.
Go to your regular drinker....why on earth wouldn't you?
And make it the night before the wedding, never mind all this 2 weeks before...that's just pish.

Used to be best to start off at the top of Harle Syke then walk into town Admittedly not as many pubs on route these days but you did not have to worry about losing your passport.

Went to Wroclaw in Poland recently on a stag do. Good quality low priced accommodation. Plenty of bars and " gentlemens" clubs. Beer is good and the Polish women are stunning. Would defo recommend this place.

Re: Stag do destinations advice
I've done 6 stag do's abroad - Magaluf (mine), Bratislava (I was best man), Barcelona, Fuengirola, Hamburg and Riga and every one of them was an absolute belter with one exception - Riga.
All 6 were what you would usually expect from a bunch of lads on a stag do, including 36 of us in Barcelona, and they all passed off without incident - largely because everyone I was with behaved and didn't behave like a bunch of two-can van Dammes, concentrating on having a good time with plenty of alcohol! The only difference with Riga being that there seemed to be an underlying tension from the locals and a feeling that given the opportunity, they would love a good tear-up with us. Not likely, given they were all built like brick outhouses!!!!!

Just do a day in York on the train.
Re: Stag do destinations advice
Stag do? Mansfield, obviously. This is a football forum, after all!
Re: Stag do destinations advice
I've definitely felt that in Riga. Our trip passed without incident although there were times off the beaten track where there was an air of tension to say the least.Cheshireclaret wrote:I've done 6 stag do's abroad - Magaluf (mine), Bratislava (I was best man), Barcelona, Fuengirola, Hamburg and Riga and every one of them was an absolute belter with one exception - Riga.

Going into a busy local bar and the music literally stopping and the whole bar turning - it was like a film! We were also sure that there were cars following us around during the last evening there.
There are some great places in Riga and some of the most beautiful women I've seen, but there are plenty black Merc driving, leather jacket wearing types that look pretty unscrupulous.
Of all the stag destinations I've been to, nowhere has come near to Prague.

Re: Stag do destinations advice
I would suggest anywhere with a pool for round the day so people can drink or chill out in the sunshine.
If you have a city break like Prague then there's not much to do apart from drink when you get up. But at £1.20 a pint it's cheaper to drink than not drink.

I'd debate that point. A little research shows there is plenty to do in Prague besides drinkQuickenthetempo wrote:I would suggest anywhere with a pool for round the day so people can drink or chill out in the sunshine.

I'm not doubting it's a nice city but I have been on one stag do there and have mates that have been on another 3 in the last two years.ZizkovClaret wrote:I'd debate that point. A little research shows there is plenty to do in Prague besides drink
Nearly every single person you speak to who went on them said nothing much to do apart from drink all day.
No doubt if they went with their wives/girlfriends they would see it different, but it's a thread about stag do's.
Re: Stag do destinations advice
I had mine in Cork and it was an absolute blast. First night was just your standard first night on a lads weekend. Everyone catching up and having a laugh. The Saturday was great; we watched football in the Sports Bar, had a bite to eat and then headed to the dog track for the racing in the evening before going back into Cork until the early hours of the morning. The majority of my mates still say it's the best stag they've been on and I put that down to the locals more than anything. They were a right laugh. Would highly recommend.
Prague is good if you go to the old town and take advantage of the cheap beer!

Went on an absolute belting do in Benidorm last year, caters for every age group from 16 to about 90 that place and we had a wide age range in our 30 odd lads that's for sure.
Been on a couple of good ones to Magaluf as well. Although I think you have to be slightly younger to enjoy it there. last time I went was 2008.

In 1981 my stag do was at the Cat's Whiskers, and untypically had the chance to cop off with a rather nice nurse. Any way many years later walking past the place with my son on the way to the turf I mentioned I had my stag do there. What you went playing bingo was the reply!

Prague. Krakow. Both fantastic.
As per DC and others above re: Riga. It's class but a bit tasty sometimes.

Those two would have been my suggestions too. In order I'd probably put Krakow slightly ahead...just.MDWat wrote:Prague. Krakow. Both fantastic.

Just had one in Newcastle, that was pretty sick
Re: Stag do destinations advice
That's probably because they went there with the intention of doing nothing but drinking all day. Very few of Prague's attractions are restricted to couples and parties with women in them.Quickenthetempo wrote:I'm not doubting it's a nice city but I have been on one stag do there and have mates that have been on another 3 in the last two years.

Re: Stag do destinations advice
Just got back from Prague and although the city was nice I found the locals to be a bunch of miserable scrotes. The concept of customer service doesn't appear to have reached that part of the world yet, with most restaurant staff acting as though taking an order was thoroughly inconveniencing them. It made me extra confused as it's a country that subscribes to the tipping culture, which usually results in outstanding customer service (for obvious reasons). Additionally, me and my mates aren't your typical lagered up British tourists either, and it's a shame because it's made me not that bothered about returning. Oh well, cultural experience and all that
