114 at a guess as half of the funds are paid as prizes.

Re: Up The Clarets Fantasy Premier League returns
I think many folk will be waiting until the transfer market resolves itself more.
I was hanging fire but you get free unlimited transfers before the season starts anyway so may as well have a first stab at a team to get it registered and sketched out; then you can transfer away to your heart's content as the transfers develop.

jdrobbo is spot on - was 114 which meant a prize fund of £570.GeneralClaret wrote:How many entrants were there last year Tony?
You can just set your team up and change it as many times as you like before the 11th August deadline - I auto selected so I could get in quickly and set the league up but I noticed today one of the players given to me was Nolito who has now left the league. I usually leave things until a day or so before the deadline and then get serious which usually means I get rid of the best players and bring in worse. One day I might get better at it.LeadBelly wrote:I think many folk will be waiting until the transfer market resolves itself more.

Anybody know why Wilfried Bony is not on this year. He is still at City as far as I am aware.

Re: Up The Clarets Fantasy Premier League returns
I think Bony is in limbo pending somebody taking him I don't think Man City (or Stoke) want him & just waiting for some deal or other from England or abroad.
Maybe West Ham will take him- they seem to be drawn towards overpriced strikers.

Someone might want to have a word about our back up keeper. No Robinson, and otherwise a protestant's dream

Strange one but one that they will sort out before the season starts unless he moves on. They've got all our new signings in so far.Rodneyyouplonker wrote:Anybody know why Wilfried Bony is not on this year. He is still at City as far as I am aware.

Re: Up The Clarets Fantasy Premier League returns
I've signed in again, though have to say in recent years my efforts to win this competition for a second time have been appalling.
There is no substitute (no pun intended) for putting in a lot of work on the training field, which in this case is the weekly Scouting Report analysis.

I daren't even think of that until a day or so before the first game, otherwise I end up making it even worse than when I started.claretburns wrote:currently putting my team together.

I'd like to say that but I know it won't happen. I usually get over excited when I have a couple of good weeks but then get back to my usual standard.Belial wrote:I think I managed 5th last season so will be looking to get in the money this time round
I am looking to improve on last year when I think I finished 82nd.

How does the prize pot work tony? Is it just first place or does the pot get split between 1 and 4 as an example. Not entered before so not sure how you do it.

Re: Up The Clarets Fantasy Premier League returns
Will depend on how many entries received as to what we can do but last year the prize fund was £570 and that went to the top three plus the managers of the month as follows:Rodneyyouplonker wrote:How does the prize pot work tony? 1st place £220
2nd place £100
3rd place £50
Manager of the Month Awards £20 (Aug to May)

Re: Up The Clarets Fantasy Premier League returns
I was up to second at one point then literally within a week or two I was back down in 5th - there's definitely a few methods of being relatively successful but there's a big element of luck and especially with the 'big weeks' you need to be savvy (whihc I wasn't last year hence me dropping back!)ClaretTony wrote:I'd like to say that but I know it won't happen.
