LOWTON
His name is Lowton for those who don't know.
To those who do, calling him Lawton isn't, mildly, amusing

I always assumed Loughton (as in ow it hurts) but heard it pronounced 'low'ton (low as in not high!) on TV. But it is 'Law''ton then.

These threads are starting to become a little tiresome. The only good one of late was removed on by the mods on Monday morning for whatever reason I can't think why.

Re: LOWTON
Lowton not Lawton.
Hendrick not Hendricks.
That should be on the club badge somewhere. Drives me in insane.

Re: LOWTON
Low is pronounced the same way as Law. This thread is hopeless. Is it pronounced like Cow-ton or Saw-ton?
Re: LOWTON
Apparently 'coe' (toe') ton!
Or sew (as in needlework) ton.

Re: LOWTON
It's Notts Forrest. With a double R.geopancake wrote:This is a bad case of Notts Forest syndrome.
The syndrome relates to having to mention early 1980s successes at regular intervals without prompting.
There's a regular support group held fortnightly at the City Ground in Nottm to help sufferers. They all pay to watch a useless team play awful Championship football to take their mind off past glories.
The success of the treatment is moderate. The only thing that really helps with the condition is taking so much Harvest Pale Ale they can no longer talk coherently.
Sadly, the ale is rather weak and anyone in the vicinity will suffer from regular mentions of the European Cup until the alcohol can render the patient truly incapacitated.
It's tragic. I had to move away to escape the misery.

"Lewton it is then". What Luton Airport?
Can he play midfield? Migfield as heard up Towneley? (In-joke Longsidetrumpet)
Connelllly or Connolli ?
Silly season in full flow on here.

Re: LOWTON
With a nickname of Lowt's as in outs, how can he call himself Lowton as in High/Low or Luton?
Got to be Lowton as in Out on the town!

I'd always believed it came from them considering themselves Nottm Florist as opposed to their neighbours being Notts County.Rowls wrote:It's Notts Forrest. With a double R.

As you were local to there I won't argue it out.
either way it winds them up.
