Re: Gray rumour
Greedy Wolves will never acquire Gray who is now a great striker in Burnley team . He is now being beckoned to play at international level . with Wolves he will perish as a nonentity .

Re: Gray rumour
Andre with Ade!
Don't forget we could also loan a couple of strikers and buy in January if it came to it. Hope he stays though.

Re: Gray rumour
Just thought I'd throw in my analysis of this because I've done a little research.
This transfer could definitely happen in my opinion because of a few factors.
1. Andre supports Wolves, they're his boyhood club.
2. Wolves can double or maybe triple his wages
3. Wolves will be challenging this season with the players they've signed.
4. Most interestingly, the recent resurgence in talent at Wolves is down to agent and 'advisor' Jorge Mendes. This man is a super agent and handles players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Diego Costa and David De Gea. He's currently being paid an absolute fortune by Wolve's new Chinese owners to handle all their incoming transfers and nearly all the players they've signed are his clients. Guess who Andre Gray's agent is?
It all sounds very dodgy, but I'd personally be very happy with £20million for Andre, given he's in the last year of his contract.

Re: Gray rumour
Auto correct mate. Thanks
Re: Gray rumour
Well according to Tim Spiers on twitter who covers Wolves for the local paper there is nothing whatsoever in the rumour. It sounds like the usual HITC ********. As for Andre I was busy moaning about his lack of control on Saturday when he set Walters up with a sitter and moaning again until of course he scored our goal. With all his faults he is far too important a player to let go and he is capable of major improvements. I'm one of those who sees him scoring 15 goals this season and who could we buy who would guarantee that?

Re: Gray rumour
My wolves supporting mate told me the above and loads more. I.e. They've renewed all their training pitches and molineuxs (sp),employed all sorts of sports scientists etc. All I could say by return is that the championship is not necessarily the right league to buy your way out of. Will portugese players and other expensive types adapt to the style and consistency required for so many games. Lose a few and automatic promotion falls out of the equation.
It'll be very interesting to watch and if it does click they may edge out the others that are throwing money at it like boro and Villa.

Re: Gray rumour
Gray can make far more money for himself by running down his contract
He will have a number of clubs after his signature next season offering a huge signing on fee plus wages
If Wolves have been promoted they can enter the auction at that time
Can't see this happening

Re: Gray rumour
HITC now saying Wolves not prepared to pay 20 million and are looking at Gallagher from Southampton. Hope they are right.
Re: Gray rumour
Think that today it will become more than a rumour.

Re: Gray rumour
Did find it a little odd he was brought on after 88 minutes last night.

What? That he's staying at Burnley and signing a new contract?paulatky wrote:Think that today it will become more than a rumour.

Now being quoted at 7/4 to go to Watford -- who are ready to get shut of Troy Deeney (apparently)

So the bookies reckon it's more likely that he doesn't go to Watford.Hendrickxz wrote:Now being quoted at 7/4 to go to Watford -- who are ready to get shut of Troy Deeney (apparently)

Re: Gray rumour
It would be suicide for us to sell at this late stage in the game, unless we swapped him for Deeney, or behind the scenes we have somebody lined up to come in straight away.Hendrickxz wrote:Now being quoted at 7/4 to go to Watford -- who are ready to get shut of Troy Deeney (apparently)

Re: Gray rumour
Swap for deeney would be interesting but I'd prefer him to sign up and stay.
