Re: Sam Clucas
If he's good enough for the first team then he's worth £15 million. That's the way it works. Personally I'd happily take him for that amount.
Re: Sam Clucas
I'd be quite happy if we ditched this one and concentrated on our other targets. We need a striker, winger and CB much more than a midfielder.

I am hopeful for Clucas, Snodgrass, Wood and Ranoccia.
We would have an excellent squad packed with quality and options from the bench.

Surely we are well stocked in midfield apart from right wing? I don't get this transfer, where would he play?

Re: Sam Clucas
Had this discussion yesterday with a fellow Claret. If SD wants to play 3 in midfield Hendrick, Defour and Cork and any of those get a knock or worse still injury or suspension our bench cover at the moment is Westwood. Maybe in January it will be Westwood and Marney, but it follows that to have one more option wouldn't be the worst decision in the world given the experience of the season we lost Marney at the end of January and had no cover at all apart from Arfield!

Maybe inside left if there's an injury, would make sense I suppose. Whenever I saw Hull he was always playing centrally i think!ExistentialWanderer wrote:He can play on the wing apparently.

As long as were not thinking of playing another left footer on the right wing that would make sense.
We need to find the 2017 version of Glen Little, would make a lot of fans happy for sure!

Basically, all the TV revenue is worth absolutely nothing.
Unless you spend it on the club's infrastructure rather than overpriced footballers.

If he is Swanseas replacement for Sigurddson they are in bother.
If he comes to us as a squad player, that's his level.

'Sam Clucas looks certain to be finally heading out of Hull City. The 26-year-old was omitted from Hull’s matchday squad at QPR amid further speculation over the midfielder’s future. City have rejected bids from Premier League clubs Burnley and Swansea this week but head coach Leonid Slutsky admitted that Clucas is set for a move to the Premier League'

I think he's a decent player and would fit in well here. However, I wouldn't want us breaking our transfer record on him. If it's true that we offered 10mil and haven't come back with more then I'm okay with that.

I know Sigurdsson is a very good player but Swans have done very well getting that for him.IanMcL wrote:£45m to spend....could be right. We will know soon.
Re: Sam Clucas
We are playing 3 central midfielders. An injury, suspension or loss of form for any of those three, perhaps barring Cork who can be covered by Westwood, we have no cover of the quality required.
An extra midfielder wouldn't go amiss. Ideally we would be able to move the likes of Ulvestad on.

What have we missed from George?IanMcL wrote:How much is George Boyd. We miss him!
The only complaint has been left footer on right wing which is what Boyd is. JBG has put far more crosses in than Boyd would.

Re: Sam Clucas
Boyd offered little going forward, now is the time to move on. JBG is not the answer though. I would like us to bring in a right side attacking midfielder with pace in this window, who can get at players, deliver a decent cross and final ball

I would like us to sign Andros Townsend but with Stoke and Leicester interested I appreciate it ain't gonna happen. A nomadic and, at times, troubled career that would benefit from the stability and discipline of the Dyche approach.

Townsend is a wage stealer who plays when he wants .A latter day Jermaine Jenas.
JBG is a talented player who provides assists for fun and is part of an inmproving team.
The key to Townsends ability is on his name, dross.

Re: Sam Clucas
Was gonna post the same thing, wages could be a problem for us but I reckon we would get a lot of joy with someone like him on the right crossing for Wood and Vokes. He puts some excellent balls in and offers a goal threat also.Duffer_ wrote:I would like us to sign Andros Townsend but with Stoke and Leicester interested I appreciate it ain't gonna happen. Just out of interest these assists that JBG provides "for fun". Can you just remind me of the ones he has done for Burnley ?

Demaria Gray on loan might be possible, noticed Max Gradel went on loan to Toulouse, could have been a decent loan for us also.

Just watching the Barcelona game against Real Betis. Betis have a 23 yr old called Camarasa, 12 million Euro release clause, looks very good, former Spain u21 player.
He would be a huge upgrade on Clucas for less money

Re: Sam Clucas
16.5m. Yet another example of the world gone mad. Jack Cork at 10m seems a relative steal.
Re: Sam Clucas
Although he'd be a decent squad player, there is no way he's worth £16.5m. I'm glad the club didn't get involved in a bidding war.
