Are you supposed to look at your hands whilst sitting on the toilet. I didn't know that. Thinking about it, I don't actually know what I do. Hang on a minute while I go and find out.

I'm back! It turns out I have my right hand holding my member (or rather guiding it away from the toilet) with my left hand on my thigh. I look at the towel hanging opposite and the toilet roll to make sure there's enough paper. All very business like!

I developed a ganglion under my arm c 35-40 years ago. It was very worrying initially to find a "lump" in that location. Doc told me what it was & said best leave it unless it grows or gets painful. I left it and still have a much smaller version of it to this day. It's shrunk c 75% in all those years & never given me any gyp.
At the time, a few "folk remedies" were suggested to me; one was- to hit it with a hammer. I did contemplate that but, thankfully, decided to pass.

Yes Steve you can get ganglions on the palmar surface of your hand. They are relatively easy to treat and can be aspirated with a syringe and needle. Sometimes if you are lucky they may burst spontaneously. If not check it out with your GP. Perfectly harmless of course

Had one partially removed 25 years ago at the base of the thumb. never caused a problem since.

I've now got one on the back of my wrist. Pains and aches a bit but not worth getting medical help over.

They come and they go. All part of getting old.

I had a friend went to see a doctor who told him he had a ganglion on his wrist (quite a while ago now). The doctor asked him to lay his hand on the doctors desk with the ganglion upright whilst the doctor looked through a large medical book. The doctor then suddenly brought the book down hard on his wrist and effectively popped the ganglion. The doctor apologised for the violence and remarked that he should really have used a family bible.

What Cirrus said.
I used to get one as a lad on the top of my wrist. It poked out when I bent it.
Mother HP got the family bible out with a view to ttwattting it but I'd have none of it. Instead I used my little Collins French dictionary (38,000 mots) to do the business.

It's one of those painful sensations which is actually quite pleasant.

I've had two on my wrist and probably a third between two fingers ( I think I know the cause). I don't know what popped the one between my fingers, the first on my wrist popped after I dropped a wheel barrow front first into a hard surface, sending a shock up my arm.

The second, I was due to have surgery to remove and repair, but was put off, the consultant said he wasn't worried because it hasn't spread so was convinced it wasn't cancerous. That burst following a very bad fall on ice onto my shoulder.

However, if I was worried about any lump I would get it checked out.

My wife had one and was booked in for surgery.
On the morning of the operation it simply disappeared and hasn't been seen since!

I had one in my shoulder which was a c**t if I'm being honest! Resulted from anumber injury sustained playing Ruggers (shock)
Constant soft tissue & prehab/rehab work eventually sorted it out; I've got some gnarly scar tissue in my shoulder though.
