Brady
Re: Brady
I like Brady. He makes a few mistakes each game but like in any work environment if you don't do anything you won't make mistakes. What a cross for Cork and what a good goal- two massive contributions to easing past a lower league side.

and one week later........Vegas Claret wrote:There was a point in the second half when Dyche told Brady to play two touch. He does indeed keep hold of the ball too long and tries to over complicate. Nothing moves quicker than the ball and he needs to understand that. Put some good crosses in though
They've obviously worked well with him this week. Getting better every game

Re: Brady
I thought some of his passes were very good but he was slightly out thinking the forwards, but the pass for the goal was superb and his crappy Right foot shot that was turned away a minute earlier was very unlucky, he had a blinder.

Re: Brady
Really good game today. Good player.
Re: Brady
If that pass for Wood's goal isn't an example of creativity I don't know what is.
He's starting to really come good I think, he'll have off days as all wingers do but he's clearly an excellent player.

Re: Brady
Hit and miss but he really can pick out a peach of a pass/cross/delivery.
He can take more risks in a 5 man midfield. Keeps improving, very important player for us now.

Re: Brady
So I now ask the question again: Could we have Brady right midfield, with Taylor left midfield?

Wasn't impressed last season but a dyche preseason has got him firing, great game. I also thought arfield did well today, carried the ball forward well at times!

The pass was so good it made it look like Spurs were just watching. Do you think he should start on the right?ksrclaret wrote:If that pass for Wood's goal isn't an example of creativity I don't know what is.

Re: Brady
I don't think people understand Robbie Brady.
Trevor Steven was a class act. When he passed the ball he always found a team mate, whether it was for us, Everton or England.
Robbie is more a Chris Waddle, who gave away the ball more often than any footballer I've seen. He was still adored by the Geordies and Spurs and won loads of England caps, because he only had to turn it on once to win the game. He has a magic that few of his team mates have, and the price you pay is that he may give the ball away occasionally.
So stop bitching and just enjoy.

Re: Brady
With the options we've currently got I'd have him on the right, yeah. I can see him setting up chances by cutting inside and delivering, and he's also quite decent on his right foot as well. I get the feeling Dyche likes him on that side too.FactualFrank wrote:The pass was so good it made it look like Spurs were just watching. Do you think he should start on the right?

I'm seeing a midfield 5 of (attacking upwards):ksrclaret wrote:With the options we've currently got I'd have him on the right, yeah. Taylor Defour Cork Hendrick Brady
But it's slightly disturbing that Dyche has tried Taylor at centre back and mentioned about him becoming a centre back. He isn't a centre back and imo will never be. I just hope it was a message to the board to free up funds to buy one, and nothing more than that.
I've gone about Wood and hopefully now that was justified - Taylor could do a very very good job for us left midfield and work with Ward down the left hand side. They could even alternate and both switch positions as Ward can play an attacking role.

Re: Brady
I hate it when we play wingers on the wrong side. It means they have to cut in and play through-balls with their instep which we never score from.

To be fair 99% of the time it's crap. Just look at JBGs start to the season.Rileybobs wrote:I hate it when we play wingers on the wrong side. It means they have to cut in and play through-balls with their instep which we never score from.

Is that because JBG is playing on the wrong side or because Brady is a better player?Quickenthetempo wrote:To be fair 99% of the time it's crap. Just look at JBGs start to the season.

Re: Brady
The 99% is a general one. Brady has spent most of his time on the left though and all fans will still be shouting out for a right footed right winger before September.Rileybobs wrote:Well Brady has made an excellent start to the season so I don't think playing wide players on the 'wrong side' doesn't work 99% of the time.

Re: Brady
The downside to a left footer on the right, is that it's easier for the defender to push them in and are easier to mark. But Brady doesn't need much room to throw a cross in. To compare with space needed (and not their best foot), look at Beckham. Did he ever take a full back on? He didn't need to, nor did he need space to put a ball into the box.
You don't always need to take a defender on to put the ball into an attacker. Brady only needs 5 yards and he can put in an swinger. It's something I'm sure Dyche will consider full-time.
