Heaton - 6.

Lowton - 7.

Mee - 6.

Tarks - 6.

Ward - 6.

Brady - 6.

Hendrick - 7.

Cork - 8.

Defour - 8.

Gudmundsson - 6.

Vokes - 6.

Didn't really agree with the subs, 3 target men with very little supply.

I thought we played some really good stuff today. The defending for their goal was calamitous to say the least. Cork and Defour looked great again.

Heaton - 6
Lowton - 6
Mee - 6
Tarks - 6
Ward - 5, woeful crossing bad bad clearance
JBG - 5
Cork - 8, my MOTM as he was brilliant today with Defour
Defour - 7
Brady - 5
Hendrick - 5
Vokes - 5, really should have scored the first half chance.

Overall I'm not too wound up. I think Pulis is just our bogeyman. Cork and Defour wer my standout players.

Heaton 7
Lowton 7
Tarkowski 7
Mee 7
Ward 6
JBG 5 Never a right winger. Stops the flow to cut back onto his left foot every time.
Defour 9 Did not deserve to be on the losing side.
Hendrick 6
Cork 6
Brady 6
Vokes 7 Gave everything

Shooting/heading accuracy 3. 20 attempts and few if any on target.
Its a crime against humanity to play JBG on the right when Defour is playing so well.

I thought we played pretty well and there was evidence of an evolution in style. Disappointed with Brady as Nyom was there for the taking. Disappointed with Walters last minute effort not hitting the target. I'll get over it though.

Cork 7 good game
Defour 7 as above mom
Hendrick 6
Brady 5 disappointing
Vokes 5

Solid defending by WBA who are a bogey team for us. We played some nice stuff but didn't look too threatening. Weak on the flanks where we need competition creativity and pace.

I'm a believer everyone is entitled to there opinion and people shouldn't get shot down but you honestly thought Robbie Brady and Tarks had better games than Vokes and Ward?

Vokes did nothing today. Was completely anonymous. Had one brilliant chance and missed it.

Ward again offered nothing today. Im a big fan of both.

Brady tried and created some oppprtunities. Tarkowski was ok in the main. Defended most of the set pieces very well.

Heaton: 6 - Not at fault for the goal
Lowton: 6 - Shaky start but improved as the game went on
Tarkowski: 5 - Good in the air but woeful for the goal on the deck
Mee: 6 - Also good in the air, less at fault for the goal
Ward: 5 - Also had a part to play for the goal, often struggled against Phillips' pace
Cork: 8 - Very solid, good distribution
Defour: 8.5* (MOTM) - Our best player. As usual.
Hendrick: 6 - Assured performance but missed a glorious chance
JBG: 5.5 - Put some decent crosses in, but didn't offer enough in general
Brady: 6 - Very good first half, pretty poor second half. Mixed.
Vokes: 6 - Showed good hold up play and worked hard. But missed a sitter, and failed to connect with a number of good crosses

Subs: N/A - Dyche has got the team playing some good football with Defour at the centre of everything, but the subs today weren't appropriate given we then played entirely into Pulis' hands. Centre half, striker and winger all still needed.

Heaton - 6 nothing to do

Lowton - 6

Tarkowski - 6

Mee - 6 badly beaten in the air for the goal

Ward - 6

Gudmundsson - 5 went close with his curler but below par otherwise

Defour - 8 best player on the pitch by some distance

Cork - 7 looking a decent pairing with Defour

Hendrick - 6 in an out game

Brady - 6

Vokes - 6

Subs made us incredibly one dimensional.

Should have won this but, perdictably, pulis and his band of spoilers have done their usual on us. Poor old Jay looks half the player he was with that set of lumpers.

Some good signs though, we played some lovely stuff at times. Not sure what Chris Wood gives us that we don't already have though. We're crying out for guile and pace.

Think some of the scores on here are quite low. WBA are an established PL side and very difficult to beat.

Heaton - 7- very solid, almost nothing to do
Lowton - 7 - not much to do defensively
Mee -7 - very solid, though probably should have scored
Tarks - 7 - some nice playing out from the back and too much to expect him to prevent the goal
Ward -6- disappointing especially after last week
Brady 7- some nice touches, though nothing lethal
Defour - 8 - another very strong performance, source of most of our creativity
Cork - 8 - MOM - supported the back four superbly and allowed the more creative midfielders to get forward
Hendrick - 7 - held the ball well, but could have done more to support Vokes
JBG - 6 - a few nice runs, but not enough
Vokes 6 - often isolated, but won many headers but couldn't find a claret.

Overall, I thought we deserved at least a point.

Thought was pretty good to be honest, but you can't defend like Mee and (less blame but still) Ward did at this level. We missed two really good chances, and Vokesy in particular was an absolute sitter.

Played some excellent stuff, thought Defour and Cork stood out, and Brady mixed being brilliant then a bit meh. Only real disappointment was that we didn't get at least something

Heaton 6 - nowt to do

Lowton 6 - crossing needs to imporve

Mee 6 - got to be stronger there Ben

Tarkowski 7 - didn't do anything wrong

Ward 6 - my player of the year last season but struggled today

Gudmundsson 6 - some good crosses, but needs to do better really

Defour 8 - great, kept us ticking over

Cork 8 - as above

Hendrick 6 - strong, but not really a presence in the forward areas

Brady 7 - some really good stuff, but a couple of meh moments. Big improvement on what we saw last season though

Vokes 6 - did ok, but he's got to score that

Subs

All 6, though Walters should really have scored at the end

Heaton 5. Beaten at near post with only real effort
Lowton 5 Crossing poor
Mee 6 Missed great chance but generall ok
Tarks 5 Poor for goal
Ward 4 Even poorer for goal
JBG 5 Didnt offer much
Cork 8 Very Good
Defour 8 MOM we looked good every time he had the ball
Hendrick 6
Brady 5 poor today
Vokes 6 Worked hard in a lonely role

We played a negative line up against an even more negative team. Predictable result

Ward 5 looked unfit or just slow of the mark
Tarkowski 6
Mee 6 should have scored
Jbg 5 another game where he done very little
Hendrick 6 ok but didn't know he was in the pitch at times
Cork 7 great touch and movement
Defour 7* with cork today the best 2 on the pitch
Brady 5 like ward, was just slow and predictable
Vokes 6 should have scored 1 but done what was asked

I can't believe how negative everyone is. I thought we bossed the game, look at stats. I would give everyone 8 except Joburg 7 and Vokes 6 (severely off form today). Wonder goal from them, but hey ho we go again on Wednesday.

All 6's except for Vokes and Cork 7's, Defour 8 MOM.

Brady, some good, some bad but he put some mean crosses in.

Typical Pulis stitch up. If Mee had scored and we'd gone on to win I'd have given it Ben. He played well apart from the miss and the goal.

If we're not holding Tarks solely accountable for the goal then he's had a decent game. Him and Mee handled them well prior to that.

Same with the Vokes (non) header, if he doesn't take his eye off it and get it all wrong then I reckon the marks would be a lot different.

fine margins, cruel league.

Vokes won 90% of what was provided to him today and if someone had got closer to him we may have created more on front of goal. In my opinion Tarks had a big part to play in there goal. Brady gave the ball away too much and was sloppy so much so Dyche told him to play two touch before he was taken off.

Heaton 6
Lowton 5
Ward 5 (poor today and I'm a big fan, poor for the goal)
Mee 5 (awful lack of a challenge for goal and shaky in general when Kanu came on)
Tarkowski 6 (needs to be stronger for the goal / make it harder for Kanu, but excellent in air and good on the ball)
Hendrick 5 (not enough impact on the game)
Defour 8 (mom - shaded cork in that he showed urgency when we went behind)
Cork 8
Brady 5
JBG 6
Vokes 6

Lowts and Tarks need to learn that caution is the best part of valour. Caught in possession so many times when it was easier to play safe.
Cork and Defour were excellent throughout, running at the defence, creating triangles, a shame the deliveries weren't ad good.
Hendrick was also excellent first half, just faded the second.
Brady had some great touches, but also some strangely poor.
If we'd had our shooting boots on we could have won this easily.

The positive, on spells we played some brilliant possession, attacking football. The best we've played at this level, and if we continue to play that way we should be safe as houses come May.

Heaton 7 (a spectator basically)
Lowton 7
Mee 7
Tarks 7 (couldn't tackle for the goal as it would have been a penalty and Kanu's momentum after Wards rubbish challenge had unfortunately carried him beyond him)
Ward 6 (I'm holding him almost solely responsible for the goal as he should have either won the ball or wiped him out)
Defour 8 Very, very good
Cork 8 * Also very, very good.
JBG 6
Brady 6
Hendrick 7
Vokes 7 (played very well on his own imo, but one off for missed easy chance. Berk!)

Subs N/A BUT Special mention for Walters. WTF!!!!!!
Had loads of posession for a change and looked excellent in midfield, but then lacked a real cutting edge up front ironically. However still made enough chances to have won and wasted them. Rank bad defending for their goal which may have been their only shot on target and Walters' last gasp miss which would have given us all a much better night's sleep had better bloody keep him awake too in his million pound mansion. Clown!!

Heaton 6
Lowton 6
Tarkowski 7
Mee 7
Ward 6
Gudmundsson 6
Defour 8 (MoM)
Cork 8
Hendrick 7
Brady 6
Vokes 7

As rightly mentioned above.
Fine margins. And don't we know it!
Just have to take your chances. Especially in this league. Against a Pulis side too.. Today we didn't.
Cork and Defour look a very good pairing in the middle that will get better.
Not too despondent though.
Think we're looking much more comfortable in possession than we've done in a long time.
Something else we'll get better at too.

Heaton 6 - nothing really to do at all and seemed to be beaten too easily at near post
Lowton 7 - solid and dependable going forward
Mee 6 - I'm being harsh here but although he dealt well with a fairly unambitious WBA attack, when it mattered dropped a clanger
Tarks 6 - ditto
Ward 8 - tireless and a real threat. taylor will be sitting on the bench for a while yet
Gudmundsson 6 - reasonable but still not quite got that edge yet
Defour 8 - classy composed and dynamic
Cork 8 (mom) - didn't really put a foot wrong.
Hendrick 7 - busy and a threat but needs to get more composed in front of goal
Brady 7 - first half I thought he looked a real threat. Less influential in the second but some delightful touches at times
Vokes 7 - never stopped working and some great hold up play. Should have scored mind

Don think the subs were on long enough really.

Overall really good performance - we made West Brom look quite ordinary which is a measure of how far we have come. Disappointing that we conceded such a sloppy goal - mee then tarks letting cockson-baba get the better of them. West brom are awful to watch though

That's true but West brom really didn't ask any questions at all. that was the first tough one in the exam and they both got Fs for that one

Watched the goal a number of times and dark cloud has it spot on imo with his comments on Tarkowski and Ward.I do however also feel that Mee should have got to the high ball before there player headed it on to Kanu.

I agree up to a point, but Mee loses what in truth should have been a pretty innocuous header where the second ball is easily covered and cleared. It's just that Kanu to his credit is able (allowed!) to make something of it which shouldn't have happened.
