Would like them both to finish below us. So for that reason a draw today would be good.

Huddersfield had a great start in that first game versus Palace but it's a long season. They'll probably still finish bottom three.

A bold prediction. Have they got the players good enough, or better than ours?Vegas Claret wrote:I fancy Huddersfield for a mid table finish

they have serious pace up top. Remains to see defensively if the can cope/be found out. They remind me of Bournemouth

Can see both Huddersfield and Newcastle going straight back down. Huddersfield have a team full of Germans with no premier league experience and Newcastle look awful as they did last week against Spurs. I can see the match ending in a draw or away win

Clap stick central and a drummer! Amazed there was no goal music.

Re: 'Udds v Toon
They have a good manager and some good players. Mooy is as good as Cork if not better. Not quite as good as Defour imo.
Ince looks handy and the striker is good. I think they will have enough to stay up

At the moment I think Newcastle, Palace and Brighton are strong favorites for relegation.
They'll sruggle to get to 30 points

I miss goal music.
The Turf had a much better atmosphere when we had goal music.
Great finish by Mooy btw - Reminded me of an Arfield finish.

Spijed I think apart from Defour he's as good if not better than our CMs. Only cost 10m and we are about to pay 15m +add ons for Wood. Real bargain for Udds

Re: 'Udds v Toon
Dunno, none of us have really seen him play much and he's currently up against Newcastle.joey13 wrote:Wonder what the clowns on here now think about Mooy
Let's see how he gets on against better teams first shall we?
Re: 'Udds v Toon
I saw him play a lot last season. My father and brother in law have season tickets at Udds and I would go on the night matches as my brother in law couldn't make them. As a neutral it was interesting because I always rated him but some town fans didn't at first. He's class. He dragged them to victories last season in a similar way Barton did during our Championship winning season. He looks every bit a premier league player

Re: 'Udds v Toon
He looks to have got a few bargains and done well to get them all to gel quickly. I don't think they had a team when the loans went back to their clubs. Is Mooy still their record transfer?

But if he was that good how come the team finished miles behind Brighton & Newcastle in the Championship?Inchy wrote:I saw him play a lot last season. Re: 'Udds v Toon
If we had a player of Mooy's quality we would have scored. How many times did we have possession outside their box with no one with the skill to get one on target.
Huddersfield will do well this season, a team suited to the Prem.

Because he was there only really decent player

Last season they had a lot of hit and miss players like Palmer, la para (sp) and Quarner, but Mooy was consistently good. As I say he dragged them to victories at times

I think the bigger teams will tear Huddersfield apart, but they will do well against the rest I think (I hope not!)

How long after the match will it take Benitez to moan or hint about not having money for the players he wants? I can't see him staying if he isn't financed.

Good start for the Terriers, however lets see where they sit in a couple of months, don't forget Hull won their opening two matches last season and still got relegated.Newcastle look a mess, big relegation candidates.claretblue wrote:Result:

The thing with Newcastle is that they haven't really strengthened. I don't think their squad is up to much, particularly their defence. Credit to Huddersfield - great start. Long way to go though!

Re: 'Udds v Toon
Huddersfield won their first 2 top flight games in 1970/71 and were top then too.
Agree with the Bournemouth comparison, they look like they have the fire power to win games against the poorer sides. They might make the 10/11 wins necessary - probably not many draws.
Based on their start Newcastle one of the three teams we can aim to finish above.

Re: 'Udds v Toon
Huddersfield have a good run of games to start. All bottom half from last season and could do quite well if they can maintain their momentum.
Palace away (could have gone either way and if palace had hit their chances earlier could have been different
Newcastle home - a must win for them (which they did)
Soton home (could go either way at home so got to be targeting 3)
West ham away - probably their first proper test given Palace looked poor
Leicester home - won;t be easy but they'll be targeting points
Burnley Away - that';s a test for them given our home form but one again they'll be targeting a point.
After that they have some more tricky games.

. doesn't think the home form would concern Huddersfield too much. Is it not one win from the last seven or something similar?BabylonClaret wrote: Burnley Away - that';s a test for them given our home form but one again they'll be targeting a point.
