B'tard Rovers versus Mighty Clarets

Post by IanMcL » Wed Aug 23, 2017 5:18 pm

Early tonight as have meeting until just before ko.
Lots of bragging rights in an otherwise unimportant stage of the competition.

Madge has set off and will arrive on time.

Up the Clarets.

Great, she was late against WBA and consequently a few players were off their game

A bit subdued in park view at the moment, though we would be in full flow by now

Why when the away fans are being bussed in do the police feel the need to have the helicopter out over Burnley 2 hours before the Kick-off in Blackburn - that has to be a waste of public resources

I am not too bothered about us progressing in this competition but this match is against them so I want a win.

Looks like that helicopter is following those coaches all the way to the turnstiles. OB got this well and truly wrapped up.

I'm seeing a lineup on Twitter, but not sure if it's correct.

Pope, Bardsley, Long, Tarky, Taylor, Arfield, Brady, Hendrick, Westwood, Walters, Barnes

Please will someone post some pre-match photos of the Buses outside the Turf.
Or any build up pics would be great.

Not a bad lineup.

I'll bet we could win promotion from the Championship with our 2nd team.

Wood on the bench - I didn't think he'd make that. Normally players need to go through the mill before getting near to the 1st team

Yeah I doubt he'd have been straight in for a PL match.

Maybe he's looking to bring him on later just to get some proper squad experience from this exhibition game.

Not playing Heaton and Mee is a mistake IMO.
They are our leaders and have done it before at Ewood.
Not sure Heaton needs resting.

Think he needs more than a rest, been dead a few years has Charlton.

6 - 0 would just love to wake up to that and then not play them for 17 years or more

don't really believe that our line-up can do this tonight though

8 changes! I can't agree with this, far too important a game to introduce wholesale changes. Just hope we don't regret this.

Genuinely no. Its a competition that should mean a lot more to you lads as you could realistically win it, as rovers did as a prem side. For Rovers now, you know our situation, we get out of league one or its big big trouble. This game is very low on our priority list.

I'm sure you find other rovers fans that feel as you'd like them to though! :)
