Totti Hots versus Mighty Clarets

Post by IanMcL » Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:00 pm

I am off to Wembley...via car and bus.
Here is Madge to get us all fired up to cheer on our heroes. She is very fired up herself!

Let's make it special.

Persuaded the daughter to drive us to the tube station ( and collect.

About to have pre-drinks in the garden (having just finished a nice cooked breakfast/brunch),

Followed by Gaviscon, followed by cheap horrible lager at the stadium. Probs more Gaviscon later. :?

I'm hoping for a Burnley win but they are a top team. Will be great to see how our newer players perform.

Come on Burnley. What do we reckon... 4-4-2 or 4-5-1? I'd be surprised if we went 4-4-2.

I said on another thread, that I think Cork, Defour, Westwood would be the best way to go, so I'd be happy with that. But Arfield and no JBG?

A strong line up. And the likes of Taylor and Wood on the bench. Nice.

Let's reset. I'm saying the likes of Taylor and Wood on our bench just shows how good we are.

As we know Arfield plays better wide then he does in the middle, be interesting to see how the midfield line up today.

My hope is that with the likes of Cork and Defour alongside him in the midfield 5, he'll perhaps have a bit less defensive responsibility on him and flourish as a result. That's my hope anyway!

If Liverpool & Arsenal draw, and Burnley beat Tottenham....we would be joint 5th. Is that too much to ask?

I'd go along with that. He's free to just roam forward which is what he's best at. And if we go 1-0 down, we can change to 4-4-2 and bring Wood on.

I thought he was very good when he played in that no 10 role against Everton last season.
