Shorter odds to join us than stay at Huddersfield. Someone must have put a fiver on.

Re: Nahki Wells
I've seen plenty of him. He's League One standard at best. Smacks of not wanting to pay bigger bucks for a better option and taking the cheap route. Really disappointing after the start we've made.

Re: Nahki Wells
This is not going down well if true backward step signing
And at what price is being wheeled around would not pay over 2 million and even then Huddersfield will have had our pants pulled down
A newly promoted clubs cast off that was off from in the championship not inspirational is it

Reeks of nothing short of desperation. If this is the best our recruitment can come up with then they should all be sacked. Ffs

League 1 at best is a bit harsh. He has scored goals at Championship level. However, I'd be disappointed if we signed Wells.MDWat wrote:I've seen plenty of him. He's League One standard at best. There are calls for the recruitment team to be sacked following every transfer window.

Re: Nahki Wells
He scored 10 in 43 last season. 1 in 4. To replace Gray. Who's 1 in 2.
He's way, way short. This would be an awful signing.

I don't disagree - I'd be disappointed too. But looking at a player's record over 1 season isn't entirely fair. In the season prior to that he scored 17 goals. Just to offer some balanceMDWat wrote:He scored 10 in 43 last season. 1 in 4. To replace Gray. Who's 1 in 2.

Re: Nahki Wells
I think what's upsetting people is that he's coming from Huddersfield. And as such, we see him as one of their rejects.
I think he's a good player, who's different from what we have.
Like many, he wouldn't be my first choice, but could he be the difference in us getting points?

Yes, you feel things would 'align' and 'get over the line' pretty much as soon as the fax arrived at Huddersfield.Rileybobs wrote:I've got a feeling that this will be one of those bids that get accepted straight away.

Re: Nahki Wells
No chance.
This is the type of signing the likes of Barnsley are trying to make (maybe THAT's the mistake).
I reckon Nixon is dead wrong here and being fed a pack of lies. We have shown ourselves to be ambitious, so ask yourself why on Earth we would sign the Bermudan Ian Moore (he literally is).
No chance, none.

Maybe the club are leaking rumours to set expectations so low that we'll all be relieved when we don't make any signings before the end of tomorrow.

I'd rather sign Wells than nobody. Feel we need more pace up front and he'd probably link up well with our current strikers. Would still rather see one of the other attacking options we've been linked to though.

If he is an extra option to what we have don't see what the problem is.We have just signed Wood as replacement for Gray so he would be extra compared with last year.Maybe Nixon is also on a wind up.

Similar messageboard reactions from all the would-be managers to the signings of Heaton, Arfield, Gray, Barton, Ward etc etc.
Not overly thrilled personally but he has pace, an eye for goal and is young enough to improve under Dyche and the team.

Isn't he going to be our 4th choice striker?
I'm not keen on him, but he's not and never will be the Gray replacement, that is clearly Wood.

Re: Nahki Wells
A lot of people getting carried away here.
If Dyche has earmarked Wells as a target, then i would have no concerns as to whether he's good enough for us or not.
The team has come along way in 2 years, the fans expectations have gone beyond that.

Before his surgery Hoyle said if he didn't sign a new contract then he would have to go out and find another club as he wouldn't be playing for Huddersfield again.
