Burnley's Match Day Pies

Post by JMitchell » Tue Aug 29, 2017 2:43 pm

Hello,

My name is Jess and I am part of the Sisterhood of the Travelling Pies. The Sisterhood is a blogging website that creates content on pies in all different stadiums in lots of different sports. Within the sisterhood there are four of us all studying Football Business and Marketing at UCFB.

Our degree doesn't just involve assignments and exams, it is also about gaining experience in the Football Industry and meeting people who are profoundly involved in the careers we intend to pursue.

So far we have done a vlog at the Clarets which you can find here - http://www.sisterhoodofpies.co.uk/?p=481" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

We would love any feedback in making the site or content better or even any other types of blogs you would want us to pursue.

Many Thanks
sisterhoodofthetravellingpies@gmail.com

You are quite safe, I've previewed the site for you.

Disappointing really as it is actually about pies.

The pies on the Turf are disgusting. I wouldn't feed them to the dog!

Good pies but scolding hot or luke warm. If you queue for one at half time there's a good chance you'll miss start of the second half. Also they are better value than a twix or cup of tea.

And beware if you get one of the scolding hot ones - serious health hazard

The pie I had in the Cricket Field against West Brom was the best I've had on the turf in years

£5 for a pie and a coffee on the turf, outrageous.

You do get the option of a Twix with it for that price, which makes it a steal of a deal.

Had a peppered steak last week - a cheap meat and it seemed a bit thinner than I remember. Is it thinner or shallower when describing the depth of the pie?

That's a healthy matchday snack and one that would have tempted me before I got involved with Slimming World. Now about your username..

OP should include the prices of biscuity caramel chocolate treats along side the reviews of pies.

The Twix Standard.

A Gold Standard whereby half time snacks are compared against the Twix for value.

the potato pies on the turf ( carefully not calling them meat and potato ) are the hottest thing known to mankind.....even hotter than mourinhos cheeks when discussing Ashley Barnes tackles.
such a shame though that 2 or 3 local smaller bakeries couldnt supply us though....small bakery pies usually way ahead of the big boys on taste and value....utc.

I think we had CLAYTON PARK pies,a few seasons ago,and the pepper steak pies were spot on. My lad rated the chicken tikka.

'What's not to like ?'
1.The pies will be cold by half time.
2. Fish and chips before the game, 2 pies at half time plus match excitement could mean heart attack at full time.

I don't think the local bakeries can do the volume required. Didn't they have a tasting session a few years back. Thinking Dolphin bakery was one involved but the volume was too big for them.

Hollands are not the best but they are a damn sight better than Pukka pies which is all they sell down here. They really are crap.
