Reminds me of playing rugby in Florida once. There was a slough at the end of the pitch. They warned us, if the ball goes over the dead ball line, don't go get it. There might be gators there. They didn't have to warn us more than once.

Looks like a crocodile. Not au fait with Texan fauna, but I don't think they're native. Mind you. There are fake pics of sharks swimming in the streets, so.....

It's fake. (ie. not from Hurricane Harvey)

Drove through Georgia once from Ohio to Florida. Getting close to the border, Alligators were sunbathing on the freeway. Was like a slow speed slalom.

Gators are green, with blunt noses. Crocs are brown with sharp noses. That's a gator, just minding it's own business.

Anybody seen the TV series "Swamp People"? They film guys in the bayous of Louisiana who make a living of hunting gators. They set huge hooks in chicken carcasses, and set them just above the water line. When the gators go for the bait, they're hooked for good, and then the hunters blast them with shotguns from their boats. Just so that you can have a pair of alligator boots. They invariably describe the gators as "monsters" in the narrative, but the real monsters are the guys in the boats.

Interesting how gators kill their prey. They grab ahold of you and drag you to deep water until you drown. Then, they stuff your carcass under a log or other obstruction and come back to feed whenever they're hungry. They grab onto a mouthful, and then start tumbling in a barrel-roll motion until you come apart. They than swallow the chunk whole. Just thought that you would like to know.

Yeah but have you ever worn Alligator boots? OMG they're so good and they couple nicely with fox fur socks.

Alligator boots are real fashion statements in certain segments of the American public, especially the "good ol' boys" who voted for Donald Trump.

Don't be daft. They can't afford alligator boots.

There are a lot of very rich people who voted for Donald, especially in the oil country of Texas and Louisiana.

There are certain "blue collar" jobs that pay VERY well in North America. Oil field work is one, and crab fishing on the Bering Sea is another. The average pay package on a crab boat for a 6-week season is over $50,000, and that's nothing to sniff at.

It's not that difficult to tell Crocodiles and Alligators apart. One will see you in a while whereas the other one will see you later.
