Andre's back tattoo
Andre's back tattoo
There has been a lot of media coverage on social media for the finished full back tattoo on Andre Gray's back.
The tattoo represents people & events from the civil rights movement. Basically a celebration of those who helped shape his future.

In seriousness though, hes had the tattoo to pay tribute to many people who fought for freedom and civil liberties etc. Then wears a pair of Hugo Boss boxers.
Hugo Boss being the company who manufactured The Nazis uniforms in ww2.

Point being? Mercedes Benz and BMW made engines for aircraft (amongst other things), MAN made diesel engines and vehicle components, Degussa once owned the firm that made Zyklon B (Degussa provided the anti graffiti coating for the Holocaust Memorial), Mengele made (up until recently when they were taken over) argicultural equipment.cricketfieldclarets wrote:In seriousness though, hes had the tattoo to pay tribute to many people who fought for freedom and civil liberties etc. Then wears a pair of Hugo Boss boxers.

There are many British companies that are in existence today that made materials for war, that subsequently killed civilians.
I'm surprised given his recent views on gays that there isn't a rainbow

Id have thought a pair of calvin classics from jean junction wouldve been more apt.ClaretEngineer wrote:Point being? Should gone with GAP undies. I was once told that it stood for Gay And Proud by a fellow from Preston, when he found that out he chucked all his GAP stuff away ...

Okay, the likenesses, i.e. Bob Marley, are sharp but then Ronnie Wood can paint a good likeness but his pictures are rubbish. The same applies here. It's just a bloody mess.IndigoLake wrote:Yes. Do you think it's poorly done?

Looks absolutely ridiculous....do people not wonder what they will look like in later years.I can't understand wby people feel the need to decorate their bodies, are they unhappy with how they look? Each to their own I suppose.

Re: Andre's back tattoo
His back, his money, his choice.
If you don't like his 'Icons' and you are into tattoos, probably best if you don't get one copied then.
If he had recently had Turf Moor tattooed somewhere on his body the response from some would be markedly different no doubt.

Re: Andre's back tattoo
I'm ignoring the actual thread purpose a bit and not giving my opinion on this actual tattoo but how do tattoo artists do it?!
I can't draw that well on paper on a solid table with no wobbles. How do people do it on skin? Genuinely, do they draw it on paper first and trace it? Whenever I see a tattoo being done, on TV for example, It looks all thick and blotchy and then a few wipes reveals something like this underneath...

Re: Andre's back tattoo
They use a transfer of the design and put it onto your skin, a bit like the Bazooka Joe one's and then go over it and fill in the colours if appropriate.
Must be harder tattooing people with 'looser' skin though.

he plasters his back with figures who some say fought for equality and tolerance, ironic given his own views on minority groups.
