DCWat suggested that he'd be excellent in our side and the way we set up as we chatted after the game. I agree. Pace, skill and trickery. Really good player on his day but his day isn't often enough.

Troubled with his pace but his end product was woeful.

Can't agree that his end product was woeful, it was the player(s) that received his quality passes that were woeful. Watch MOTD 2 tonight you'll change your mind.

If not seen any consistency yet from Brady to convince me but given the choice, yes I would swap him for Townsend.

He seems to play well at our place but I don't think he did much at Palace in April.

I have a friend who looks like him and talks like him and acts like him (though not a footballer) who is a Cancerian. so I checked on wikipedia and so is Andros. Could be a coincidence...

Terrifies me because of his performances against us for Millwall and Weeds.
He's come on since then but not good enough defensively to ever make our team.

They're a team full of talent lots of speed and skill but as a unit they're all over the show ,this lot could take plenty of big scalps with the right manager

Dyche would have Townsend back in the England squad.

Agree over-rated show pony just like Oxlade-Chamberlain.

I've always liked Townsend, but he definitely struggles for consistency. On his day he can be awesome, but they don't come often enough to make him worth that kind of money, not to Burnley anyway.

Another Townsend fan. He flatters to deceive at times so as above would be a risk signing. On his day though he is very good, puts teams on the back foot and always has that ability to curl in a beauty. Bit of a one trick pony in a sense though as you know he wants to cut inside and get it onto his left foot to get a shot away. Nullify that and he just becomes a nuisance. We handled him well yesterday.

I was going to mention him but clearly a lot of people thought the same as me. Have never been impressed before but he was very good yesterday. Credit where credit's due.

I can remember when Stevie Kindon kicked the ball 30 yards down the wing and set off like a greyhound, it was exciting. Townsends dribbling trickery yesterday no doubt for some was at times exciting too, however when Kindon got the ball and ran to the dead ball line you just knew it was all over, no end product and yesterday for all his trickery Townsend had no assists to his name or goals. He looked great but the fact is Palace didn't score.

I know lots about football and keep an open mind on players we face.Townsend is a 20min trier in most games and lack consistency
Started well and faded.Robbie Brady is different class and also has played two hard games in the break.

I like Andros Townsend generally but he is so one footed and needs to cut back on to his leftside every time. We doubled up on him in the first half to prevent him being able to do so, but when he gets one on one his speed enables him to shift back.

When played on the right he needs to cut in and score to have a successful day because it's very hard to create chance for others on the wrong wing.
