'pudlians versus Mighty Clarets

Post by IanMcL » Sat Sep 16, 2017 11:46 am

The Mighty Clarets march to Anfield today to scare the ashes of Bill Shankley.

The red defence will be sent left and right as our forwards drive down the wings and through the middle of ....lots of space.

Madge is very excited so she has come out for a pre-lunch warm up.

Come on you Clarets!!!

4-5-1 Wood up front. Arfield in, no Hendrick.

The letters are: P O P E.

But, perhaps it's been Heaton for so long nothing else looks right in that team sheet?

Anybody know what the score was when we played them on 12th August?

Going to put £50 on correct score & first scorer

Fancy Walters to come off the bench and score. He has a good record against Liverpool.

Formation: Looks good to me. 4-5-1

With the option to go 4-4-2 in the second half with Vokes and Barnes

or we could even try 3-5-2 with Hendrick coming into midfield - maybe a bit risky that formation away from home.

I do like how we can now change things / formations particularly away - less predictable

Think Jeff may struggle to get a game considering he isn't even on the bench

What's happened to the new left back from Leeds? Not on the bench.

Missed that, was reading the post further up - must have a few problems with the hamstring then - 3-5-2 will definitely be out then

Mee and Ward can both play left back so we don't necessarily need a specialist LB on the bench.

Perhaps he's got a knock too?

Don't know, just putting ideas about. I'm sure he hasn't been dumped by Dyche after all of 5 minutes here though. He's a very promising young player.

It looks like Wood has now grabbed Vokes' place. Up to him to keep hold of it now. I notice Taylor has missed the bench again with what looks to be Dyche preferring having both Barnes and Vokes there.

Who do you drop tho to put Taylor on bench?

Bardsley can replace Lowton
Long can replace Ward with Mee stepping across to LB
Or Brady can drop back Arfield across, Westwood on in midfield

Yep, I said the same thing last week. We have cover at left back with Mee, but not with Lowton if Bardsley isn't there. Slightly surprising to see all 3 of Walters, Barnes and Vokes on.

realistically we will be chasing the boys in red a lot today, we will need an out ball for 95 mins and the ability to hit them on the break. I would have thought Taylor would have been better than Bardsley at that if either were required. But in the 100 times I've questioned Dyche I've probably been wrong 101 times lol

take out the front 3 from this team: Mignolet, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Klavan, Robertson, Can, Milner, Coutinho, Salah, Sturridge, Firmino

If we are 100% we could get something
