When I say hilarious I mean you are hilarious but not funny !

Isn't it strange that not one person agrees with you or has a clue what you are saying. Eh but thanks for the lesson on the English language. I'm sure it won't be long before we hear pundits on TV describing defenders as solid as a rock but also a liability.

Maybe we can extend your wisdom to describing midfielders as "combative but weak" or attakers as "clinical but poor finishers" ?

D-ick
Really, you have asked everyone and no one has a clue what I am saying? Or just because you are arguing with me you believe no one else understands?

When I say solid I mean good but not amazing. It may have been poor word choice to describe a defender. I didn't say 'solid as a rock'.

A shocking thread..a real waste of time. Boring, repetitive, illogical, 'you started it', uninformed in football terms, badly written, poor grammar, slack spelling..just awful.

Can we get the quality up please..where have many of the sound posters gone..? :( :o

Just put your usual pithy, sarky, irreverent, mickey-taking stuff down Rileybobs and that would would raise the quality on this thread by 50%.

The petty nature of some posters on here is ruining pretty much every thread at the moment. Just feels like a lot of school kids squabbling in the yard at break time. Some of them need to understand that their opinions are not going to be 100% agreed with all the time. The constant need to reaffirm their point time and time again just gets tedious!

Personally, I don't think Tarky is a liability as a ball player for example. He has a tendency to take a fraction too long on the ball from time to time but his footballing ability is much higher than your average centre half. If people don't agree with me then that's their choice, football is all about opinions after all, it won't give me any sleepless nights!!

I think Tarkowski, overall, had a good game. Had he scored, someone else would have eventually missed, then it would be them who were being lambasted on here. And like I've mentioned, the fact that he had the balls to stand up and go and take one should get some support from us as fans. It shows he's confident and that's what you want from your players.

There's one thing having the balls to take one, and another actually having the ability to score one.

Tarkowski has taken 3 penalties in his career, and has missed all 3. He should not be taking a key penalty in a shootout.

Did anyone else notice that before Leeds took their 5th penalty Chris Wood was stood on halfway pointing to Pope telling him to dive to his left? Pope dived left and the ball went right. Ho hum

The criticism of Tarkowski in here for having the temerity to step up and take a pen is absolutely disgraceful, and everyone who has ought to hang their heads in shame.

If the fact Tarks was taking a penalty said anything about any of our players, it was credit to him for stepping up - and if some other, more adept players weren't stepping up, then that's possibly the more relevant point.

That said, giving Tarks the 4th pen was a very odd decision. It was almost as though the team failed to recognise that the 4th penalty could be absolutely critical under the new rules (I don't know whether you have to give the order of your takers to the ref at the time of the toss, or whether you can be flexible).

Yes he didn't look comfortable. Pity Arfield couldn't have taken one he wouldn't have missed!

Leeds twitter feed is showing their five penalties.

You'll struggle to find five better penalties

Tarks is a liability.....

And a defensive rock

He takes a great penalty - but struggles with his penalty taking.

One thing that cannot be disputed though is that for a small bloke he's a big lad is Tarks

Got to agree. Think they have to submit names prior to them starting but at least he had the gonads to step up. It's up to the individual players if they put their name forward.

That's the but some people are struggling with, if no one else puts there hand up then we have to go with those who do.

Apparently that's rocket science judging from the number of people who cant understand it.
