AFC Wimbledon investigated for treatment of MK
As title says, Wimbledon are to be investigated for their treatment of MK Dons - personally I think they’re entitled to treat them however they wish, bar the allegation of attacking fans coaches.

Childish. They have their own club. Why dont they just get over it. They obviously didnt want their own club enough in the first place and are in a better place than they would have been anyway.

Re: AFC Wimbledon investigated for treatment of MK
Was glad to see MK DONS win last night. The way AFC Wimbledon get on, you'd think the previous club was some powerhouse of the game that had been taken over by invaders, not an itinerant and failing club that hadn't played in Merton for 10 years. A bit like us being in such a state that we had to decamp to The Wham Stadium for a decade and then getting annoyed when something inevitable happens.

I think that's something that is often forgotten about Wimbledon, the falling attendances/dwindling fan base etc prior to the eventual relocation of the original club.

Re: AFC Wimbledon investigated for treatment of MK
I know you're only saying it to get reactions but Burnley fell way lower than Wimbledon did.
If the Colne dynamos fella had got his groundshare at the Turf they would of gone above us and eventually took our ground off us. Such was the difference in finances at the time.
Stealing football clubs and moving them miles away is not acceptable at all.

Re: AFC Wimbledon investigated for treatment of MK
Can not agree with this sorry. Yes, it was a falling club and you would have had to pay me to watch them back then as the football itself was dire. The point is though that there is a sporting mechanism for failing clubs and that is relegation. No-one would moan about that. Stealing the club, rebranding it and setting it up in another city though?! That is beyond the pale no matter how much I might personally dislike the club. How anyone could wish MK Dons success is beyond me.thatdberight wrote:Was glad to see MK DONS win last night. Before the move to MK was announced the Dons were getting attendances of about 7000 which is not far off what that lot down the road from me are getting now.Sidney1st wrote:I think that's something that is often forgotten about Wimbledon, the falling attendances/dwindling fan base etc prior to the eventual relocation of the original club.
It was only after the Dons fans boycotted the games as a direct result of the move that attendances plummeted.

I really got quite a perverse kick out of MK Dons beating AFC Wimbledon on their own patch yesterday. I'm quite tired and frankly bored of all the holier-than-thou shyte that surrounds the tale of both these Clubs. It's done; the genie is out of the bottle. Just get on with your lives, people.

It was only last Saturday that i was a huge AFC Wimbledon fan......as i swapped them as my number 2 team yesterday i couldn't give a toss who won
I certainly disagree with the way the Franchise was set up though.

MK can get their own back in the reverse fixture, just make the scoreboard read:
MK Dons
Kingston
Simples!!

Disappointing to see people taking any pleasure out of MK beating Wimbledon.
There's only one team I hate in League 1, and it ain't Blackburn.

Didn’t want it enough in the first place? For sheer nonsense and stupidity that will take some beating.cricketfieldclarets wrote:Childish. They have their own club. Why dont they just get over it. For what it’s worth, it happened and nothing will change that now. It was so very wrong and at least lessons have been learned so it can’t happen again. I have so much time for what they’ve achieved at Wimbledon in such a short space of time but they do need to concentrate on themselves now. At least they’ve worked for their club rather than have it handed to them.

Re: AFC Wimbledon investigated for treatment of MK
I've also noticed that instead of putting money towards funding a new ground they coughed up £7.5 million for Hartson of all people.
It's almost like Hammam didn't want a new ground, a home of their own in Wimbledon.
Didn't he have some bizarre idea to move the club to Ireland at one point too?

And the hole you dig gets bigger. Best to say nothing when you don’t have a clue what it’s about. Try starting with Asda.cricketfieldclarets wrote:Its happened since football began and continues.

The real Dons that had to play on Crystal Palace 's ground through no fault of their ownthatdberight wrote:That would be the Croydon Dons you're talking about?

And Winkleman wanted a club any club to cheat their way into the Football League and to secure the business deal that has made him a pretty penny.cricketfieldclarets wrote:Yeah they were going to go ireland. We were in dire straits too and not many gave a ****. Lets not pretend they did.
MK tried to get Luton and then QPR and then ended up taking Wimbledon.

It's a long list of people who aren't Wimbledon FC that are to blame for everything that happened to them. But it's definitely never them.mkmel wrote:The real Dons that had to play on Crystal Palace 's ground through no fault of their own

Re: AFC Wimbledon investigated for treatment of MK
Tried Northampton & Rushden & Diamonds too. They couldn’t have the out of town retail park without a football stadium and went looking for a club. Stadium, the lot handed to them just so Asda could have a big store in a retail park on that site. Absolute disgrace.mkmel wrote:And Winkleman wanted a club any club to cheat their way into the Football League and to secure the business deal that has made him a pretty penny.

I don’t and haven’t done since this. I know it won’t bother Asda but it’s my choice.tim_noone wrote:I take it you don't shop at asda.

I used to attend all night raves round there before they closed down the buildings that were used and knocked up an Ikea to go along with Asda etc.
Those were good times.

Yeah that's it, Sanctuary Music Arena or something like that.
A friend of mine sent me a link to an old video of a Helter Skelter event there years ago and he'd spotted me on it
I look so skinny and young.
They used the Rollers arena too for the bigger events.
