Wood certainly isn't exactly slow, but yeah Vokes and Barnes need a push. It's what we're lacking. Gray did a lot just by being on the pitch. The opposition knew how fast he was and so couldn't push too far forward.Iloveyoubrady wrote:I hope wells does have a positive effect. He definitely has more pace than our other strikers.

Thanks boys...
I reckon it is definitely (definately) one of the most commonly misspelt words in the English language.

It is, you're right. Another is bizarre. People often put an extra z in or just a single r. With the line of business I work in... business is actually another. You wouldn't believe the number of people who do buisiness, buisness, and the like.3putt wrote:Bet you wish you hadn't typed it in upper case bobinho

I fancy Vokes is a bit miffed to have lost his place.

Vokes wouldn't have offered anything different to Wood on Sat IMO

We are missing Gray even if CT and the mods don't like that idea.

Re: Nahki Wells
I think we miss him but we have better. We miss the variety he gave us. Hopefully Wells will provide us with the variety gray did
Re: Nahki Wells
We are a far better team without Gray, mainly as we have 11 players for 95 minutes
Re: Nahki Wells
There are less breaks in play for offsides without Gray and there is less arguing in the stands about whether he is any good or not. We are short of pace though which he did have but then we all knew that. Hopefully it will be addressed in Jan unless Wells is the answer.

Re: Nahki Wells
The stats say we're offside more than any other team in the league this season, with 4.3 per game. Next nearest are Arsenal with 3.8 then it's Watford at 2.7.Blackrod wrote:There are less breaks in play for offsides without Gray and there is less arguing in the stands about whether he is any good or not. That works out as 26 times already this season, Arsenal 19 and Watford 16.
Nice theory, but completely disproved when given even the first glance at the reality.

Edit for more info: Our 2016/17 offside rate was 2.7 per game.
Andre Gray was offside 1.1 times per game.
Chris Wood is averaging 2.8 per game this season.

Re: Nahki Wells
Nah, not really.
Definite (any excuse to get it in) improvement in his game whilst with us, but I just feel his inclusion left us very one dimensional. His "talents" are nowhere near as obvious or effective at this level.
He's gone, and I'm ok with it.
Onwards and upwards for the Clarets.
