Simply tremendous... a brilliant spectacle for a brilliant sport.
Castleford have romped the league this year. More than so many seasons that have gone before, Cas deserve the crown before getting to Old Trafford, such has been their dominance.
It was written in the stars for Luke Gale though wasn't it? Appendicitis....appendix out... back tonight, just sixteen days after major surgery... a penalty to take it to Golden Point Extra Time, after the full time siren had sounded, followed by the winning drop goal to seal it. What a player!

Re: Castleford Tigers v St Helens
Good question.
From the start of Super League, I was a big fan of Tony Rae, so I started following London Broncos. Big changes there in recent years so I don't really support a team. If I had to say a team, it'd be Bradford Bulls, purely for geographical reasons.

It would have been a travesty if cas hadnt made the final after walking the league. I was gripped to that tonight. Time for a new name on that trophy. Hull or Cas for me.
Re: Castleford Tigers v St Helens
Boring game when Wigan don't win everything.

Re: Castleford Tigers v St Helens
St Helens would've won that with a decent goal kicker; a couple of relatively easy conversions missed there I thought. Scoring 5 tries to 3 and losing is a bit of a slap in the face.
For those who are asking who they should support as a neutral- depends which side of the Pennines you come from doesn't it? (when its a Lancs v Yorks clash anyway).
I have a soft spot for Wigan and St Helens- because of some of the early displays I remember from Eddie Warring days.

Rugby League semis
Did anyone else watch that brilliant game last night between Castleford and St Helens ? As well as being a superbly committed and thrilling game, decided by a drop goal "golden point" in added time , the thing that stood out for me was the fantastic old school atmosphere. Under the lights a capacity crowd packed into a tight little ground....it really was The Jungle last night and a real sporting throwback.
Leeds v Hull tonight should be another cracker and then tomorrow afternoon it's the "million pound game" Leigh v Catalans to see who gets relegated from Super League. Personally I think it would be a shame to lose the France-based team.

Thought this was going to be about getting aroused over watching big blokes in short shorts hugging each other.

It amazes me how Rugby fans mix without trouble but yet football fans can't seem to manage it, been to a few RL games and the atmosphere is far better than anything you get at a football match.

Yep,fantastic match yesterday,Stains must be still kicking themselves after throwing victory away.. Scored five tries to three but missed kicks cost them.. The guy who gave away the penalty in the last seconds deserves to be horse whipped in public as there was no danger to them with the kick through ..By the way I'm a Warriors fan but wanted Stains to best those Yawkshire twohats Castleford..
Leeds to beat Hull tonight and Leigh to beat Catalans tomorrow

Don't believe all you hear mate , there is quite a bit of trouble around, mainly from the Warrington and Hull fans though .FulledgeClaret wrote:It amazes me how Rugby fans mix without trouble but yet football fans can't seem to manage it, been to a few RL games and the atmosphere is far better than anything you get at a football match.

conyoviejo - agreed the idiot who gave away the last minute penalty deserves to be horse whipped, one of your own tho', an ex Wigan player Mattie Smith. What a fool!
A great game though, Saints are my 2nd team after Rochdale Hornets.

Re: Rugby League semis
I'm sure there is trouble at some fixtures but having been to a fair few Bulls(my team) v Rhinos and Saints V Wigan(wifes team) games which are probably 2 of the biggest rivalries in RL and I have never seen any trouble other than a few V's flicked when scoring, the fans mingle in the stands drinking and talking can you imagine that happening at Us v Rovers or the Mersey Manchester London derbys it just wouldn't happen.conyoviejo wrote:Don't believe all you hear mate , there is quite a bit of trouble around, mainly from the Warrington and Hull fans though .

Fair comment Fulledge.. I've not seen much at Wigan only when Warrington have been visiting ..FulledgeClaret wrote:I'm sure there is trouble at some fixtures but having been to a fair few Bulls(my team) v Rhinos and Saints V Wigan(wifes team) games which are probably 2 of the biggest rivalries in RL and I have never seen any trouble other than a few V's flicked when scoring, the fans mingle in the stands drinking and talking can you imagine that happening at Us v Rovers or the Mersey Manchester London derbys it just wouldn't happen.

Castleford Tigers
Saw the rugby league semi-final game between St. Helen's and Castleford live yesterday. Not a big fan of league, but I absolutely loved that game because there was so much emotion involved. I haven't seen that many tears shed since The Orient Game. Somebody said that Castleford has a chance to win the title for the first time in their 118-year history. Fair dincum to them (and I love their stadium, too.)

Ontario, you were well lost.
Shame it's an all white rose final but fingers crossed for Cas, they've had a hell of a season.

You need to start watching more Rugby League OC, far superior to girly Rugby Union.ontario claret wrote:Not a big fan of league

OK Juan. I'll have a few of my friends from the All-Blacks come and visit your house, and you can repeat those words.

Union. It's the only pure form of the game.

Don't they use rhino horns as an aphrodesiac? Maybe that's what those other postings are about.
