Pope 6 Not sure if he should have been quicker off his line for the goal but to be fair probably expected Mee to deal with it comfortably. Flapped at a couple
Lowton 6 didn't offer much going forward and we needed it against 10 men when were struggling to break them down
Mee 6 bad mistake for the goal
Tarks 7 generally pretty good
Ward 7 offered a bit going forward
Cork 7 Poor in the first half with the ball but second half was better and worked hard
Defour 9 superb, everything good went through him today. Easily man of the match
Arfield 6 don't remember him offering much today offensively
Brady 6 wastful at times
Hendrick 6 not his best game
Wood 7 plus one for the goal

JGB 8 made a real difference and always wanted the ball. Great cross
Vokes 6
Barnes 6

Pope 6 did what he needed, need to watch the goal back.
Lowton 5
Mee 6
Tarky 6
Ward 6
Arfield 5 rightly hooked
Cork 6
Defour 7 MOM
Hendrick 5 as Arfield
Brady 5 wasteful for what seemed every time
Vokes 5
Wood 6 plus 1 for goal
JBG 7 looked positive

Another point towards the objective, no matter how poor or exceptional it may have seemed.
On to City next week, a bonus game if ever there was one.

Pope 7 - not too much to do but did it well
Lowton 8 - not too much defensively but linked well down the right
Mee 7 - won everything in the air
Tarks 8 - very good today
Ward 7 - good defensively but not as good as normal going forward
Arfield 6 - looked pretty poor an kept trying flicks which weren't working. Drifts out of position
Defour 9 - ran the game
Cork 7 - got stuck in and broke up play well but lost the ball often
Hendrick 5 - didn't do anything
Brady 8 - made mistakes as ever but he can change a game. Linked well with defour and played two good through balls into the box for wood. Should have had the second free kick rather than defour. Noticed that he worked very hard today.
Wood 8 - thought he held the ball up well and rarely lost the ball at all. A few good first touches as well. Great finish

Vokes 5 - didn't really do anything
Gudmundsson 8 - like Brady, he makes mistakes and fans must not get on their backs. Almost scored with a very good effort and a great assists with his weaker foot.

Pope 7 - couldn't do anything with the goal and was quite assertive
Lowton 7 - very solid
Tarkowski 7 - very solid, not much going forward
Mee 6 - obviously at fault for the goal, and a couple of other slips too
Ward 7 - not as potent going forward as usual
Brady 6 - not quite accurate enough
Defour 8 - MOM - at the heart of everything we did
Cork 8 - particularly good in the second half
Arfield 6 - thought he had a decent first half and was yanked for tactical rather than performance reasons
Hendrick 6 - off his game today
Wood 7 - pretty strong performance and well taken goal

Vokes 6 - didn't add much (think Barnes should have come on first)
Gudmundsson 7 - made a real impact

BTW, thought WHU looked pretty good.

Pope 7
Lowton 6
Mee 6
Tarkowski 7
Ward 6
Arfield 5
Defour 7*
Cork 6
Hendrick 5
Brady 6
Wood 7 inc 1 for the goal

Gudmundsson 6
Vokes 5

A rather dull performance. Lots of huff and puff without many clear cut chances. We lack a number 10 on days like this.

Having watched the highlights, a game we should have won. First half was a penalty all day long. Feel sorry for the players they got no luck today.

Pope 7 did what he needed to do
Lowton 6 didn't get the ball as much as he should but when he did needed to get forward
Tarkowski 7 solid as normal
Mee 6 mistake for the goal
Ward 7 did well enough today
Brady 7 he a flair player, it's not always going to work
Defour 8 sublime today, make us tick
Cork 7 not his best today, their no8 was everywhere
Arfield 5 not just good enough in that position anymore.
Hendrick 6 still looks to feeling his way back
Wood 7 never stopped, took the goal well.

Vokes 6
Gudmundsson 8. That was better when he came on

Overall gutted we only got one point as it should have been more with a little luck and correct decision on the pen.

Don't really agree people who thought that was a poor or disappointing performance. Against an established Premier League team that came for a point, had 10 men for 60 mins and defended with 6 or 7 at the back for most of the game, I thought we battled well with some decent moments of play and a few good chances created. Should have had at least one penalty. We didn't look our usual assured selves at the back either so I'm happy with another's point gained. To be where we are in the table at this stage is incredible, and I'm enjoying every minute. UTC!

Pope 6
Lowton 6
Ward 6
Mee 6
Tarkowski 7
Arfield 5
Cork 8 - excellent alongside the outstanding...
Defour 9* - another simply faultless performance.
Hendrick 5
Brady 7 - frustrating but can be world class at times. Summed up in second half when he miscontrolled a simple pass and 10 seconds later played one of the passes of the day for Ward to run onto.
Wood 7
Vokes 5
Gudmundsson 8 - put us back in the ascendency when he came on. Excellent for the goal. Great to see a winger attack the full back and whip in a cross!

they did not come for a point originally at all. There starting line up suggests they came for a bit more than a point, but it is a good point against good players. Bilic must be on borrowed time they have a great squad.

Pope 7 couldn't have done anymore, unlucky with the goal
Lawton 7 good game
Tarkowski 7 another good game
Mee 6 one mistake cost us sadly
Ward 7 Antonio has always been a thorn in Burnleys side, did well considering.
Brady 5 has games where nothing goes for him, this was one of them. Has a great attitude though, never lets it get to him and tries and tries again
Defour 8 mom hell of an engine and great reader of the game
Cork 7 very good, couple of wayward passes
Arfield 6 rightly taken off at halftime, with hindsight I'd have pulled Brady, but understandable at the time
Hendrick 5 very disappointing, if his job was to support Wood when we attacked he failed miserably, as Brady nothing came off, rightly taken off
Wood 7 thought he had a good game in the circumstances. Didn't think it was a penalty at the match, but the replay shows Hart got a hell of a lot of him and nothing of the ball

Vokes 5 Before Sam had a long run with Ings, he only looked a middling player, coming off the bench just doesn't suit him as he always seems to be off the pace.
Gudmundsson 8 thought he had an excellent game when he came on

West Ham were certainly fired up, perhaps Bilic told them his job was on the line. We could have won it but they deserved a point. The histrionics and baiting the ref really let themselves down on a good performance.

A couple of players off it today, but overall we still look a much better team than last year despite failing to win.

Thought we were the better side first half, and comfortably 2nd best second but just about deserved a point. Think we went 4-4-2 too early, but it ended up working becaase JBG made the difference.

Happy enough, and to be honest, how can you really not be?

Pope 7 - no chance with the goal, pretty solid with what he had to do
Lowton 6 - quiet, but West Ham shut us down really well
Tarkowski 7 - untroubled
Mee 5 - his fault for the goal
Ward 6 - got nothing out of Antonio at all but stuck at it
Arfield 6 - surprised he was hooked so early to be fair, but can see why we made the change
Defour 8* - MOM again, some of his crosses were brilliant, though thought he could have imposed himself more against ten men
Cork 7 - solid, but another who probably had to do more against ten
Brady 6 - hit and miss, but a threat
Hendrick 6 - needs to support Wood more, but again, probably hooked too early
Wood 7 - great header but again, probably needed to do more

Subs
JBG 8 - hit the post and a stunning assist. What more can you do?
Vokes 6 - ok
Barnes 6 - ok

Special mention for the worlds thickest footballer as well, step forward (and try not to elbow someone while you do it) Andy Carroll

Pope 7 Did just about everything competently.
Lawton 6 No issue other than we don't use him when he gets into good positions out wide.
Tarkowski 7 Not much to do.
Mee 6 See Tarks
Ward 6 Seemed to be on a different wavelength to Brady at times today.
Brady 5 See Ward.
Defour 8 Loads of the ball and used it well.
Cork 8 MOM Jack had a very good afternoon.
Airfield 6 Scotty did nowt wrong but it was obvious we had to go 442 with a more attacking threat out wide.
Hendrick 5 Not really up to speed today.
Wood 7 Good game from the big man. Well taken goal.

Vokes 6 Didn't really have the impact I'd hoped for. (Perhaps Dyche felt the same)
Gudmundsson 7 Great cross for goal. See you can do JBG :)

Never thought I’d say it but looking forward to seeing what Wells can offer when we do change to 4-4-2. I’m hoping some neater link up play and movement in the channels to stretch play for us.

Mee 5 bad mistake for their goal otherwise ok.
Ward 6
Arfield 6
Defour 8* starting to enjoy the middle of the park for us
Cork 7
Brady 8 our most creative player, several perfectly weighted through balls and dribbles. Ignore those who gave him a 5.

Pope 7 - Unlucky for the goal, not his fault.
Lowton 7 - Decent game.
Tarkowski 7 - Solid.
Mee 5 - A bad day (but he doesn't have many).
Ward 7 - Mr Consistency.
Arfield 5 - Surely Gudmundsson to start.
Cork 7 - Effective at both ends.
Defour 8 - (MOM) - Flashes of proper quality.
Brady 6 - Frustratingly inconsistent at times.
Hendrick 6 - Not great today, to be honest.
Wood 7 (+1 for the goal) - Didn't get the best service.

Gudmundsson 7 - A huge improvement when he came on.
Vokes 6 - Looked a little lost playing alongside Wood.

Pope 6
Lowton 4 - don't recall him putting in a single cross all game.
Mee 4 - all over the place
Tark 7 - did his job well
Ward 4 - offered nothing going forward
Defour 8 - ran the show
Cork 8 - him and Defour dependable as ever, do their job very well.
Brady 5 - just nothing
Arfield 3 - was he even playing?
Hendrick 4 - our transfer failings means he has to be played out of position.
Wood 7 - isolated against 10 men at home one good ball into the box all game and he scores.

Vokes 4 - made no impact at all.
JBG 7 - made an impact, excellent work for the goal.

Meh, no flow, flair or creativity at home against 10 men for over an hour but a decent point given the circumstances and how useless we are at breaking teams down.

Pope 7 - didn't have too much to do, but did it well. Not much chance for their goal
Lowton 6 - one of his quieter games going forward, but steady enough defensively
Tarkowski 7 - solid performance
Mee 5 - ok overall but point lost for his mistake for their goal
Ward 6 - ok
Arfield 6 - got into some good positions but disappointing in the final third
Defour 7 - steady game with some flashes of quality
Cork 6 - he's had better games, but still had an ok game
Brady 4 - had a poor game. Looked low on confidence after a few mistakes
Hendrick 6 - some decent play in the first half. Probably taken off a little early
Wood 6 - took goal well but didn't get much service

Gudmundsson 8 - good, direct wing play and was a genuine threat. Should be starting
Vokes 5 - ineffective

Before the game yesterday I probably wouldn't have been too disappointed with a draw, considering how many 'unexpected' points we've already picked up this season. But to play against 10 men for so long, I think we can feel a little frustrated that we didn't take the game to West Ham more in the second half. Fair play to them, they did their job well and made it very difficult for us to gain any sort of momentum. But it's another game unbeaten and the league table still looks very healthy indeed, so all in all, not a terrible result.

If you think that 3 of our players deserved a 3 yesterday then you are not going to get much joy watching Burnley.

Not sure which is more stupid - comparing Vokes to Iwelumo or giving 3s to Brady and Hendrick

Out of interest, those that mark on here, some which go into great detail, do you make notes during the game?

Defour 8
Arfield 5
Hendrick 5
Rest of team 7

At the final whistle was happy with a point against a strong and skilful WH team.

Still need more imagination, speed of thought and precision in the final third of the pitch.

Pope 7
Lowton 7
Tarks 8 (*MOM)
Mee 6 (should have cleared their goal)
Ward 6
Defour 7
Cork 6 (not at his best yesterday, even though he was always trying and always busy)
Arfield 6
Hendrick 6
Brady 5
Wood 7 (excellent late run to get space for for the goal)

JBG 8 (definitely livened us up and super cross for the goal)
Vokes 5 (made absolutely no impression and imo SD got this one badly wrong. Vokes and Wood together was tried previously and it didn't work and yesterday it was exactly the same. As things stand injury wise SD is limited and hampered in his options re 2 up front, but should surely have turned to Barnes to partner Wood instead at half time)
Barnes n/a

I find it increasingly worrying how we're struggling to make many meaningful chances at home and spend long periods seemingly "hoping" for something to happen rather than breaking people down and creating stuff. Teams have worked us out and let us have a lot more of the ball, knowing full well that we haven't the pace or trickery to take players on and really hurt them. Hence it's set pieces, long balls into the box and mostly poor quality crosses which we're relying on. (Note yesterday; EVENTUALLY one good cross = one excellent headed goal from a very good centre forward. And people said Gray got no service!!)
With a bit of luck we could have taken all 3 points as there was a clear penalty waved away, Lowton seemed to do an "Alan Moore" and ducked when he should have been stretching and JBG's shot could easily have bounced in off Hart's backside. BUT on the other hand we have to say we gave away an awful goal and West Ham defended brilliantly with their 10 men and challenged us to break them down which once again we struggled to do. Us losing, which looked increasingly likely, would have been a travesty, but I came away feeling a point apiece was probably fair.

I've just seen the highlights on Sky and there was more then one good cross. Wood had a first half heading opportunity from a good cross.

I also noticed that Tarkowski put a nice elbow into the back of Carroll just before someone jumped on Defour.

I agree about Barnes tactically, but it's qute possible that Dyche may have had the same concerns about Barnes that I expressed to friends at half-time.
Carroll sent off for red card (elbows) after 27 minutes.
45 minutes of Barnes jumping at opponents in the way he does, (and WHU throwing themselves on the floor), would give a weak referee every opportunity to level things up at 10 a side.

Pope 6
Lowton 6 - Probably should have made it 3pts
Mee 6 - An obvious error
Tarkowski 7
Ward 6
Arfield 5 - Almost all his recent form has been in the centre, unsure why we seem reluctant to stick it him there for a run of games
Cork 7
Hendrick 5 - Switch him and Arfield and I believe we can get more out of both players
Defour 8 - If I'm not mistaken here only misplaced one pass all afternoon. Easily the best player on show
Brady 5 - Some fine moments but frustrating in the main. Think he looked jaded following the internationals to be honest which must have taken it out of that Ireland team. Still worth his place every time. Has to be taking free kicks in prime position over Defour or anybody else for that matter.
Wood 7 - Scored a good header and wins us a penalty any other day. Could have been a contender for MOTM but he gave the ball away cheaply for their goal and sent a header down Harts throat from a lovely first half Defour cross. Looks a great signing for us on this evidence though.

Vokes 6
JBG 7 - Want to see him take on his man more often. Great stuff out wide for that assist.
