Predictions for Man City match?
City are on fire this year. Do we have a chance? Are we going to suffer a thrashing? Or are our lads going to be firing on all cylinders?
Re: Predictions for Man City match?
Just the 5-0.

I think we will lose, but this defence won't take a real beating.

Re: Predictions for Man City match?
I imagine that we'll have more men behind the ball that Stoke had and give City less space, so a hammering isnt a certainty.

KRBFC will have an absolute fit because it will be the most negative football we've played since last season.

Don't think we've conceded 5 in a league game while Dyche has been in charge, have we?

If City go down to 10 men as early, then we might do ok.ElectroClaret wrote:Everyone wrote us off at Chelsea.

It’d have to be 9 men. First the keeper, then the reserve keeper. We may then have a chanceFactualFrank wrote:If City go down to 10 men as early, then we might do ok.

Our game will be the third of four home games over ten days for City.
Perhaps they'll be fed up of playing at the Etihad by then.

Re: Predictions for Man City match?
seriously, who gives a fu ck ?
they discarded a certain Ben Mee from their 'youth academy' and look at him now, he's turned into a real gem, while they waste millions on the likes of mangala, etc.
Maybe its just me, but I watch city on the TV, and it doesn't seem real somehow.
anyhow, I'll take a 0 - 1 win for the Clarets, followed by a meltdown by Guardiola complaining about the ref/ our 'long ball'/ how he still needs another 2 or 3 players/ etc.

Re: Predictions for Man City match?
Given the devastating effect on a lot of team's goal difference that Man City will have this season, a defeat by just one or two goals probably wouldn't be an absolute nightmare. But you never know, this Clarets team is full of surprises!

Re: Predictions for Man City match?
I fully expect City to beat us, but we'll rough them up and remain disciplined. I can't see us shipping the 6 or 7 that Watford and Stoke did, respectively.
What I expect is to look at the table at 5pm, still find Burnley to be in the top half, but smiling at the fact that we'll have then played:
Chelsea
Tottenham
Liverpool
Everton
Man City
AWAY FROM HOME.
And delighted at the thought of any other potential bottom six teams still having to go to at least half of those teams during the season.

Re: Predictions for Man City match?
Stats show City scoring 4.5 goals per home game - and Clarets 1.5 per away game. So, perhaps 4-1 or 5-2 is par.
This game is all set for Sean Dyche to show his defensive framework, team ethics and organisation. 0-0 will be a great result.

Re: Predictions for Man City match?
City 6-0 Burnley
We will park the bus from the off, invite world class players to attack us and build up momentum at their own ground. Wood will be isolated and barely get a kick, timewasting at 0-0 will be in full effect. The formation wont change because Dyche doesn't actually change game to game like a Marco Silva does. Negative. The problem is Dyche is reactive, often tok late which is why we have never won a PL game from a losing position since hes been here. If he just set us up to attack and get that first goal to give us something to hang onto we wouldn't be so poor at home.

If they play the way they did this weekend we have no chance But I would like to see a defensive master class. I don’t think we will keep them out but we won’t get hammered. 2-0 to city.

Re: Predictions for Man City match?
We're a better side than Stoke, so just the 6 then. (5 if city have an off day!!)
Last year we could and should have got something from them there, but this year we'll be lucky to get nil.

Anything in the order of a 2 - 0 defeat or less will be mighty impressive.

Re: Predictions for Man City match?
2-0 would be a decent outcome given the form Citeh are in lately. I'll have a bet on the draw though - just in case.
Re: Predictions for Man City match?
It really is a free hit. Look at our rivals' fixtures; even a defeat won't be too bad:
Chelsea v Watford
Everton v Arsenal
Tottenham v Liverpool

Re: Predictions for Man City match?
This will be the same Marco Silva who lost 6-0 at home to Man City recently, the reality is unless City have an off day they will batter most Premier League teams at the moment, what has been impressive from Watford is their response to that drubbing,if Burnley suffer a similar landslide on Saturday we just have to forget about it and move on to Newcastle, the one hope is that City are due for an off day, plus for all the hype they did ship 2 goals yesterday, when we get the chance we have to try and put some pressure on their defence. Reality says 3-0 defeat would be a decent score.KRBFC wrote:City 6-0 Burnley

Re: Predictions for Man City match?
It will be interesting to see what team he plays against Napoli on Tuesday - who are being widely touted as Europe's best by pundits at the minute. After their recent Prem form, I think their players might be more focused on Napoli and after that, Burnley is just another game. Complaceny could creep in.
City have played a lot of matches at home of late - percentages tell you they can't whip everyone. I also think he will start to rotate the squad a little more, not that whoever comes off the bench won't be awesome - they are the most expensive squad ever assembled in football after all.
Just one to enjoy - a free hit if ever there were one - we should treat it as a cup tie and sing our hearts out - what will be will be and all that.
Oh prediction 2-3, a la Chelsea.

We will have to play out of our skins just to get a narrow defeat. If we can keep it a 2 nil defeat at worst or 3-1 defeat it won't damage the goal difference too much and would be a good result. This is one game along with W Brom away where we could get a hiding.
