If he goes?
Who would you want in?
Some one who's savvy in the European transfer market?
A tried and tested manger BFS for instance?
or keep it in house and offer it to Ian Woan or Michael Duff?

Re: If he goes?
He wouldnt go. But Allerdyce would be a low risk, ready made replacement for now and the next season or so where consolidation and stability should remain priority number 1.
Someone with knowledge and contacts (and a more open mind towards) on the continent would also appeal.
Would hate to think we would go for Pardew or Pearson.
I expect we would end up with someone like Moyes.

Re: If he goes?
Moyes is a busted flush and the club would know that.
Allardyce is happy in retirement until a really big offer rocks up.
I suspect the club would something out, they've done reasonably well over the last few appointments.

Re: If he goes?
Would certainly be controversial but Moyes.

Re: If he goes?
He's still having issues at Derby, but they need a major overhaul which he's started.
Re: If he goes?
Quite like the guy at Huddersfield. A sort of German Dyche

Martin O'Neill? Might as well go the whole hog. He knows the Irish contingent and plays a similar defensive framework to Dyche. Could do worse. Last thing we would need is a complete change of style mid-season.

Chris Wilder, for one. But I think we'd be looking for someone with Premier League experience.Saxoman wrote:Who's a talent in the championship this season?

I’d expect us to stick with our tried and tested blueprint and go for you and up and coming.
I’d guess at Rowett or Wilder.

Rowett would be a good continuation from Sir Dyche.

I believe your approach is that its just as important they are good in the championship in the event of relegation.FactualFrank wrote:Chris Wilder, for one. But I think we'd be looking for someone with Premier League experience.

Re: If he goes?
If they offer him a 4 or 5 year contract at 2.5 million a season, that would give him the security to do a rebuild without the fear of being potted.cricketfieldclarets wrote:He wouldnt go. He'd be off in a flash,i wouldn't expect him to show the same loyalty that the board gave him after relegation.

Re: If he goes?
How about us poaching a manager from another Premier league club,we are bigger than Watford,I'll take there manager in a flash..job done.
Re: If he goes?
Just got rid of a manager after eight games who was on a three year contract.bartons baggage wrote:If they offer him a 4 or 5 year contract at 2.5 million a season, that would give him the security to do a rebuild without the fear of being potted.

How does that logic work.
Only security is to do well. Big risk, how can he do better than winning the league with them.
Presure will be massive.

He'd obviously want a guarantee that he'd be given time to rebuild.Jeffbfc wrote:Just got rid of a manager after eight games who was on a three year contract.

This is why agents get big bucks they negotiate little clauses into any potential deal.

Would that be an unreasonable request to a potential employer who wants long term stability?Diesel wrote:Pahaahaaaahaa.

Can’t think of anything at all that Mike Phelan has done to warrant even being considered.HuncoatClaret wrote:Why?
Look at Hull after they potted his last season.
Only reason he’s been mentioned is that he once played for us.

Re: If he goes?
Every time someone gets the sack or quits we are gonna have to go through this **** right?
I don't believe Leics is a viable option for Dyche.
Struggling to find a PL club that is tbh.
Not saying there isn't one, just i'm struggling naming it.
Not worried.

Re: If he goes?
Plenty of viable options out there, as it happens.
Shortlist might well include the likes of Moyes (for all his struggles at Sunderland, his win % at Everton was above 40%, at United was about 50%, and even at Sociedad was about 30%), Wilder, Rowett, Bruce, Dean Smith, Michael and Martin O'Neill, Coleman, perhaps Duff if he's seen as ready, perhaps someone like Neville if he wants a look at top flight management and came with an experienced coach, such as Phelan.
Few options there, and they're just of the top of my head.
