Modern Policing
Modern Policing
Some nice pictures in the papers of the police ( men and women and x ) painting their nails bright colours and posting them on social media. I bet hardened criminals are running scared.

Re: Modern Policing
When I was about 19 I had a gig in a really dark and dingy club in the arsehole of nowhere, a proper rough hole, and the other guitarists told me they were painting the nails of their left hand black to help them see their fretting hand better in the gloom. The bounders and cads that they are didn't do it though, only me.
That's the only time I've ever worn nail varnish.

What's wrong with that?
The checkout staff at asda have their nails painted.
I don't think there's a correlation between not being able to do your job and having your nails painted.

Blackrod is obviously one of those very simple people who think that having your nails painted for community engagement means you can't arrest anyone.
I also suspect a vague whiff of homophobia.

I think Blackrod is concerned that the police are trying to portray a tolerant, inclusive, diverse and caring nature; which isn't necessarily conducive to those who are in jobs which involve violence.
I think it's nice though for the others.

Never ceases to surprise me that people don't seem to want to have an inclusive society. It takes a whole host of people to make a world, not everything is black and white.
I celebrate the diversity of everyone and everything.
Well done to the Police for what is a small gesture but a big statement.

Why do bobbies in nail varnish offend you so much?
Would you much prefer they stuck to thrusting their truncheons and having big helmets?

If you want tighter immigration laws, you want a total stop on immigration because you are a xenophobe.
If you criticism Islam, you are a nazi racist who hates all muslims.
If you disagree with a protest in America by NFL players, you hate black people.
If you think that US police are demonized unfairly by the media and activist groups, you are a racist (again)
If you vote Tory, you are selfish, cruel and greedy.
Etc etc etc,
Common sense and middle ground just don't seem to pop into their thinking.

And if you want to scrap tuition fees and reimburse a small number of students then that means you want to spend £100 billion on scrapping all student debt. Oh, and if you carefully and thoroughly demonstrate a person's prejudice against a minority then that's mischaracterised as you accusing someone of racism purely because they "disagree with a protest".
And yes, i'm talking specifically about you. But also people quite like you. You're the very definition of someone who only deals in extremes.

I don't believe i've called anyone a Nazi who hasn't express Nazi beliefs. Like, for example, internment camps for people of a particular religion.Sidney1st wrote:You were pretty close to it, but it's usually your default setting on certain discussions.
If you can demonstrate an example of when i've called someone a Nazi without an associated expression of a Nazi belief or support for a fascistic policy then i'll be happy to retract it. But i think you and I both know there is no such example. Because the irony of you saying that calling people a Nazi is my "default setting" is that it's not true, and in fact you accusing me of that is your "default setting".
The truth is that I never call someone a racist, or Nazi, or an idiot, without being able to explain why i'm calling them it. And it's never because they disagree with me. Tiao tried to prove this false once and he couldn't. You're more than welcome to have a go.
