Re: Rugby League World Cup 2016..
I must admit I know **** all about rugby and have never watched a game but for a change I'll be watching as I've been told good things. It will also lead up perfectly to the ashes. Are we (England) any good? I see they have Australia first.

Re: Rugby League World Cup 2016..
No doubt we will get our usual drubbing at the hands of the Arrogant Aussies who must be odds on favourites to win the tournament.. Can't see anybody stopping them, but it should be a good watch with some great rugby being played..Looking forward to seeing Tonga this time as they have an awesome squad.. Will be interesting to see How the crowds behave in Papua New Guinea ..
First match is on live tomorrow morning BBC2 at 10 am.. Arrogants v England ..I expect a bit of a drubbing, hope I'm wrong though ..

Re: Rugby League World Cup 2016..
The Aussies and possibly NZ will come ahead of England, several of the England squad play their club rugby in Australia and, as with soccer, foreign imports dominate in our Super League. The standard in the SL this year has been quite low, Castleford dominated but then fell at the final hurdle. Zac Hardaker's behaviour cost his club dearly and his omission from the England side is a big loss too. What a silly boy?

An excellent first five minutes in the Australia vs England match- England have just taken the lead, though the Aussies are hot favourites....
0-4 after 7 minutes.

Aussies playing well, loads of flair - a matter of time before they put points on the board.
England defending well.

Having to do to much defending. Widdop’s goal line drop outs aren’t helping. Not far enough.

Aussies back in it...6-4
They simply look to have the best side....too much firepower.

10-4 after 55 mins, England having a decent 2nd half.

12-4 after 75 minutes, good performance by England, different refereeing downunder only 3 penalties, 2 harsh ones against England.

Re: Rugby League World Cup 2016..
Two dubious penalties, and a runaway try. I think 18-4?very much flatters the Aussies.

Did they hold it behind close doors to show on TV a year later?

Re: Rugby League World Cup 2016..
Looking forward to the rest of the tournament. It's undeniably true that the competition is pretty predictable ...with the semi finalists almost certainly Australia, NZ, Tonga and England but there are some interesting match ups amongst the smaller nations and I'm really looking forward to seeing how Papua New Guinea get on at home to Wales in Port Moresby early tomorrow. It;s the national game in PNG and, as convoyejo has already commented the crowds there can get a bit lively. Shame this one is not on live TV but I'm sure there will be decent stream somewhere.
