Great time to be a Burnley fan
Well it is for us younger ones who weren't around for the past glories.

Great time for us gnarled old Longsiders also. I have been moving house over the last two days - horrible weather - and today, now that it is finally done, I have just sat down a few minutes ago to finally get the result == and introduced myself to the new neighbors with a whoop of delight when I opened the main UTC page. I am now convinced this is going to be a lucky pad

Yes apologies, wasn't meaning to exclude you old gits
Re: Great time to be a Burnley fan
Those past glories were a pretty long time ago (over 50 years?)
and football then was a totally different game.
Well the game might not have that different now but the finances etc. were and there was little or no tv coverage.
It was probably as, if not more exciting, to be at the games in those days as the Turf was virtually all standing
and full for most games.
Bit there's no better time to be a claret than now.
We're competing in the top division after spending decades in the lower leagues
and have a club, manager and players we can be proud of.

Re: Great time to be a Burnley fan
I wish I was around for the old 'un days. I know football has evolved over the years but I wonder which glory is the best achievement. Obviously there's more money in the game so that make's it both harder and easier to compete in then years gone by but back in the 50's and 60's we could pinch players from different areas i.e. Scotland, the north west and east. So we definitely had a good reputation which would make it easier to compete.

Re: Great time to be a Burnley fan
I've been a Burnley fan since 1968, which is when i first started going to t' Turf.
The early 70's team was always my favorite, but this team and this manager have exceeded all expectations and hopes!
This team makes me extremely proud to be a CLARET.
