Ha ha ha, we play these sorts of teams in pre season to give all our lads a run out, and their club a few quid
Whilst Rovers have to play them competitively at home and still struggle.
Aye, isn't it all rosey at the moment.

Attendance over 10,000 tonight, must have been a fair few travelling down from Fleetwood.

Re: Tonight's Big Lancashire Derby.
They're getting about 7,000 on each game, but giving the 'attendance' as 10,000, because of non attending ST, etc (this from a couple of bas turd supporting pals). A few more seasons in the lower divisions will really damage them financially even more (how can they possibly carry on with a 30,000 capacity if gates drop below, say 7,000 ?). Fun times indeed.

The capacity will stay at 30k irrespective of where they are unless they close sections of the ground surely50 shades of Grey wrote:They're getting about 7,000 on each game, but giving the 'attendance' as 10,000, because of non attending ST, etc (this from a couple of bas turd supporting pals). Yes of course the capacity will remain at 30K; I simply meant the overheads on ewood and brockall for that matter must be massive and will continue to damage them. Hopefully.

Surely can’t be right, £13 million since February this year!?

Re: Tonight's Big Lancashire Derby.
The figure doesn't surprise me at all. It's only £1.5 million a month. With no parachute payments, cheap season tickets, virtually no "walk-ons", relatively few visiting supporters, and a disintegrating infrastructure, it's not hard to imagine them losing well in excess of a million a month.Jimmymaccer wrote:Surely can’t be right, £13 million since February this year!?
.
Problem now is that they've got hardly any one left of value to sell, so they are totally dependent on their benefactors.

Re: Tonight's Big Lancashire Derby.
Venky's bought BRFC in November 2010, paying a reported £23m and taking over a debt of £20m....they were 14th in the Premier League, Sam Allardyce was the manager, and their squad was littered with established International players....
Since then, the Venkys have invested £139,170,731 into the Club by way of Share Capital, in addition to the Premier League monies, parachute payments etc. They now lie 6th in League 1, 11 points behind the last automatic promotion spot and level with Fleetwood and Rotherham....
What next ??

"Rovers can confirm that our upcoming home game against Walsall has been postponed.
The League One fixture was due to take place at Ewood Park on Saturday November 11th.
However, as Walsall have had several players called up for international duty that weekend, they have received approval from the EFL for the game to be rearranged.
Under EFL policy, clubs are only able to request postponement of league games in the event that they have three or more players selected for international duty."

But as long as Venkys keep funding them, then they are not going to go bust.
I don't know what the motivation is now for them to keep investing mind. I don't think anybody does anymore.

Its the only explantion that makes sense.
The negative publicity wouldn't do much for thier brand as well, but is it really worth the millions they are pouring in?

They miss out on automatics on the last day by a dubious decision/goal, or
They lose in the playoffs or even better in the final, due to a dubious decision/goal. ( a Burnley player past or present doing the damage would be hilarious ), or
Stand closures, or
Administration, or
Relegation,
League 2,
Beaten off Accrington
Or all of the above!
As slowly as possible will be better.
