Who went to Padiham?

Post by djemba-djemba » Sun Nov 12, 2017 9:05 am

325 on at Padiham yesterday - quite a few more than normal.
Entertaining 5-3 win in the end.
So I wondered how many of you would normally be on The Turf but went down to see some local non-league with Burnley having no game.

I went up, good value with the half price for ST holders deal. Just £3 for me and free for my two under 16s boys. An entertaining game helped by a lack of defensive quality. Quite the opposite to the turf you might say.

... And found the streets paved with gold? No, that was Burnley. My hair fell out.

Great matching colours. Apparently the Romans couldn't tell the difference between blue and gold. Nice pictures. Must have been a long football match, Dressinggown.

Suitably attired for the occasion, no doubt...

I went for the City of Liverpool game on Non League Day - think there were close to 500 on that day.

64 people took advantage of the half price ST deal. At least 60 must of been Burnley fans.

Some kids turned up for the first game when the offer was on only to find out it is only available to adult season ticket holders at Burnley.

Remember when we used to play them at the Arbories pre season friendly's got very healthy crowds of 2,000 to 3,000 on
the record crowd was 9,000 against us in 1884 but the ground was on the banks of the river Calder then and the nickname of team was called The Caldersiders.

U16s are free entry for all games. So must of been 17 yr olds

Whoever is in charge of their pitchside advertising revenue needs shooting.

The advertising boards are on the other side of the pitch so they are well seen from the clubhouse.
