As someone who lives a long way from home these are great pics to look at. Thank you for posting them.

That subway could tell some stories.

Nice photos. I like how you've applied an almost monochromatic filter to some of these photographs. I've always thought that if there's anything Burnley needs, it's to look more dreary than it already is. Full-range colour photographs just don't quite capture the personality of the town.

That subway is now an absolute disgrace and to say it is a main thoroughfare for visitors to the town from both the railway and bus stations to Turf Moor.
The steps entrance on the Gala Bingo side have been fenced off for over a year because it is dangerous. Lot of the tiles are in need of replacement....it is dirty and the whole place is a real mess and an eyesore.
Apparently it comes under the control of Lancashire Council not Burnley Council.Guess it is a lack of funds preventing work being carried out to repair it.

Ps sorry did not mean to hijack your post Dressinggown.Great photos by the way.

Cracking photos DG....sadly photo 2 catches the full shabbiness of the BL exterior. Come on BFC ...get it painted , it looks awful.

I agree, Random. The exterior of the Bob Lord, and even back of the Cricket Field, looks really shabby. In the grand sceme of things the cost to re-clad and put new signage up would be minimal. I don’t think the Directors look up at the stand when they pull up outside. It looks a mess.

Great pics, DG.
