M65 closed, junctions 10-14
Morning all.
Just been on national radio that the aforementioned stretch of motorway has been temporarily closed due to significant patches of flooding. Not sure when it will re-open, but might affect some of your commutes.

Closed at 6 this morning as I went past Gannow Top.
The new barriers don't drain the water away. Dark, drizzly horrible for driving this morning.

Been a problem for years. Lancashire County Council either can't fix it, or don't know how too.

Facebook is full of your friends. That's the whole point of it. Why are you friends with '3 car family types' if you hate them so much?Quickenthetempo wrote:Facebook is full of 3 car family types complaining about traffic jams. Bizarre.

What is a "3 car family type"?
My family has 3 cars: We have 3 adults working in 3 different places, at different times. What would you have us do?

Use public transport. Or get jobs locally.CaptainKirk wrote:What is a "3 car family type"?

OK if you want to work in Poundland or a Pawn Shop or zero hours at BooHoo. If you wan t to actually support a family or have a career you need to look a bit further afield.Quickenthetempo wrote:Use public transport. Or get jobs locally.

Re: M65 closed, junctions 10-14
Public transport - you having a laugh?
I would have to get to the nearest bus stop (over half a mile walk), get a bus to the nearest town (every hour), get a train to Blackburn and then a bus to somewhere near my place of work and then walk the rest of the way to the office - and then back again at the end of the day (except the buses will have stopped to my village by then).
My usual time out of the house would go from 11-12 hours to about 14 - no thanks.
There are no jobs in the fields around my house.

Thinking of BooHoo, not sure you can get public transport to anywhere near their hangar.Chobulous wrote:OK if you want to work in Poundland or a Pawn Shop or zero hours at BooHoo. If you wan t to actually support a family or have a career you need to look a bit further afield.
