Bournemouth to London after the game
Bournemouth to London after the game
A bit of a long shot but
Due to various issues,it’s looking like I will now have to get to London for a return flight after the Bournemouth match
I was wondering if anyone had a spare seat in their car, going back that night
Grateful if anyone could oblige , cheers

Thought it might be a big ask .
Re: Bournemouth to London after the game
I know of 3 who are coming back the morning after in the car, they're staying over. £30 for the Hotel was too good to turn down.
Re: Bournemouth to London after the game
Cheers Macca , unfortunately I would need to get back to London that night , there is a coach setting off at 2.30am so will probably catch that.MACCA wrote:I know of 3 who are coming back the morning after in the car, they're staying over. £30 for the Hotel was too good to turn down.

Re: Bournemouth to London after the game
Theres usually a train into waterloo. But unsure if that will be running at that time?
Perhaps london clarets will have a coach on?

Looks like the last direct train from Bournemouth to London Waterloo is at 22:11. The walk from Dean Court to the station is approximately 30 mins. So you might need to leave the stadium on 90 mins and miss any injury time.

If you look out for a large white taxi with remnants of a dead moose on the right wing, the driver, a lifelong Burnley fan, will get you to the station on time.

The nearest station to the ground is Pokesdown (about 10/15 min walk). There is a direct train to waterloo at 22:14 but it doesn't get there until 01:05

I would think that would be the best option by far.Leisure wrote:joey13 - I could sort you out with a return seat to Burnley on Accy Clarets coach if that helps?
Re: Bournemouth to London after the game
Thanks leisure, but I’m flying in from jersey and I originally booked a return which was returning Thursday at 2.30pm but I have a scan that morning at 9am , so I was thinking of getting the first flight out from Gatwick at 7.30 that Thursday morning which would get me back in time.Leisure wrote:joey13 - I could sort you out with a return seat to Burnley on Accy Clarets coach if that helps?
Thanks anyway and everyone else with their suggestions.

Re: Bournemouth to London after the game
I'm banking on catching that 22.11 train from Bournemouth (only as far as Basingstoke). It stops at loads of stations so gives a v slow journey. The advantage (as mentioned above) is that it stops at Pokesdown 22.14 and there'd be no rush to get there by that time as there would to Bournemouth Central.
KO is 19.45 so the game should be over 21.40 unless there's a silly amount of extra time. it's about 1 3/4 miles back to Bournemouth Central from the away end so quite a rush to get there 22.11. Only c 1 mile to Pokesdown though (and train is a tad later there of course), so no great rush & you can even afford to give the lads applause for the win.

joey13 - I'm still 50/50 if I can make the game, but if I do, I'll be more than happy to give you a lift back to London/Gatwick.
I'll let you know.

joey13 - my wife and I live in Kent and we could give you a lift to Gatwick Airport on our way home. You could find a hotel near the airport for the night get and be ready for your flight in the morning.
