"What do you want from Santa?"
The dreaded question!
As a bloke in his late 50's what on earth could I possible want or need?
So, I thought of turning to all of you for suggestions.
Have you received a present that was a little unusual and not the usual aftershave, socks, tie & shirt, or wooly jumper?
What was the best present you ever received?

Re: "What do you want from Santa?"
I'm lucky enough to not need anything.
The eldest always gets me that years second shirt.
The youngest will get me one or two of the new books, that seem to be coming out prolifically and that isn't a complaint.

Re: "What do you want from Santa?"
best present I ever got was a game called RAVING BONKERS back in the 70s when I was 8 or 9 yo....it was a game where 2 of you controlled a boxer and if you punched him in the face his head flew up and you won......problem was that me and my brother found the present a couple of weeks before christmas and played with it.....it was broken by christmas day....lol...we enjoyed it though.

This will sound so boring to most of you but the gift I look forward to each year is an Amazon Gift Voucher from my son. The pleasure I get from buying new books for my Kindle is enormous.

Reindeer meat..
Re: "What do you want from Santa?"
I had a reindeer dish on a SAS flight to Norway many years ago - very tasty indeed. If Father Christmas is reading this, and I’ve heard he’s a Claret, he should just get the barbeque on and choose a different mode of transport.kritichris wrote:Reindeer meat..

I don't know what it's called for certain but it's about 20 years old, has long legs and doesn't understand the meaning of the word 'no'. And it's NOT a horse.

No, it's an elephant. I want it so I can put it in the middle of my living room to see if everyone ignores it.
PS. Wouldn't Kermit be about 40 now?

Re: "What do you want from Santa?"
Yeah!!!!! A kindred spirit. I don't like 'Santa'.thelaughingclaret wrote:He's called Father Christmas, not 'santa'.
Other 'Americanisms' I don't like:
Whatever
Zee instead of Zed
24/7
Sidewalk (yes, I heard it the other day)
German Shepherd (it's an Alsatian)
Virtually any shortening of a phrase to initials
Of course this is not an exhaustive list, just the ones that come to mind.
By the way I know that Santa is not strictly American (is it German, I'm not sure) but it has become popularised through American TV and films.
My 4 year old grandson even has a fake American accent (too much TV and films).
How can you tell things are slow at work? I start spouting pure drivel in an angry man sort of way.
Sorry folks.

A Heinkel he-115 seaplane airfix model.
Re: "What do you want from Santa?"
How about asking for a handmade KENT moustache comb, Curries? The finest Sawcut manufacture and £3 from Boots. At just over 7 cm long including integrated handle, the 81 T model can be used with either the left or right hand and fits discreetly in any toilet bag. I won't post a picture of it, as that might spoil your surprise if you ask for one from your nearest and dearest.
