I thought he was bionic?

Fond memories of George, as I have of all our recent old boys.

Maybe they are exceptions but there's Trippier, he's doing ok plus Ross Wallace has been very successful at Wednesday, and David Jones is playing at the moment I think. Erm...who else?

Tripps has done well
Jay, Charlie, Danny all have had a number of bad injuries, but are still in the Prem.
Andre's at Watford.

The rest signed for mid table championship teams such as Derby and Wednesday, Jones, Wallace, Boyd, Fletcher and Shackell.

I’m told he regrets moving to Sheff Wed and wishes he’d stayed. Not sure how bad the injury is but he’s not played since September.

I wonder if Michael Keane is having similar regrets. I know it’s early days and no doubt he’s on more money, but he can’t be happy with the situation he finds himself in now.

The ones who have done well tend to be those who we had to sell mainly for financial or contractual reasons. Trips,Jrod, Austin etc The ones we decide to `let go` tend to fare less well.

Seemed indestructible when he was here. He did a great job for us. He understood and accepted exactly what Sean wanted him to do. We thought he was a fancy dan flair player but he selflessly performed the role of Duracell bunny and weighed in with some crucial goals. Never gave less than his all. An essential part of the framework Mk2, but we have now moved on to Mk3.

Evidently, George had an operation on his shoulder, however, when he went for a check up they found that there was still a problem and he had a second operation around the end of October I think.
He now has to undergo recuperation and resume training and is likely to be out for some time yet.
Good luck with the recovery and many thanks for what he did for us.

Yes he was playing in pain for some weeks and thought it would just get better, only to find a major injury requiring operation...and now 2nd op according to Ashington above.

Get well and play out of your skin George.

Great in his time here, though doubtful he'd make the bench now

It was never going to happen but I'd like to have seen George given a free role behind the striker(s), like the one he played at Peterborough.

I'm sorry to see he's not playing. I know he had his limitations but I thought he was very good for us overall. Suited our system very well and ran his socks off (we love a runner, lol). I'd have been happy to see him stay on here but with a reduced role this season. Having him on the bench to help us see games out would have been useful. Mind you, we're not doing too badly without him are we? :)
