It just shows that it takes time to build a team, a club and a spirit that we have here at
Burnley - five years in fact. Which other premier league club, which is considered to be a
step up for Mr Dyche, is going to afford him that time ?

I can see Tarkowski going to Russia and not Keane. So if he felt he was progressing his career in leaving the clarets, it may back fire. As he no longer is our player I don't care. He chose to leave, nobody held a gun to his head.
I would have given anything to wear that Claret and blue shirt.

Re: Oh dear! Michael
Didn't Michael Keane say he was moving to Everton to work for Koeman?
£30 million mentioned - p45 - but didn't that figure include add-ons? Are Burnley losing some of those add-ons with current situation?
Separate topic: Everton reported by Times today that they have given up on getting Silva from Watford.

Strangely I seen a article the other day saying if Jose leaves united for PSG Dyche would be a good fit as he is a long term committer.

He's getting a right pasting on the Everton forum. From "worse defender in the league" to "I'd pay Burnley 30m to take him away".

I didn't watch the game, did they put the first team out ?
Or were they saving them for the weekend ?
After all it was a dead rubber.

Actually. I could see the Dyche one day moving to manage Man U. or L'pool.
Everton would be a v poor move for him.
Keep up the good work Sean!

They put quite a strong team out for saying. Although "strong" is relative for Everton this seasonFunkydrummer wrote:I didn't watch the game, did they put the first team out ?

Relegation, rebuild and promotion (if it’s as easy as that) would be best for that club.

wow didn't expect that sort of slating, I find it a bit over the top as I said earlier in the post he looks like he is playing to cover every other defensive position because he doesn't trust his teammates which is leaving him open to be beaten and by the looks of that forum ridiculed.Moorite wrote:Page 47 onwards

Easy to say now. but honestly, never could quite see it with Keane; except ,yes, he used to chip in with an odd (important) goal.
A;ways rated Tarkowski as better.

Yea, It's just the way it was. Keane was great, but ,when I saw Tarkowski give an early cameo appearance, i just thought he was better, and I'm not necessarily yet proved wrong, tho Keano did score those significant winners.mickleoverclaret wrote:You were mad mate, he was superb for us.
Re: Oh dear! Michael
Was still learning when he moved. He left too early in my opinion but money talks now before a player is fully developed. Hope the boo boys keep off his back or his confidence really will be shot.
Re: Oh dear! Michael
Comment from an Everton fan, clearly Dyche's influence is wearing off:
I think the duck for their third sums him up. Clearly never heard of the phrase “putting your head where it hurts”.

He was far from perfect for us. However, often he was covered by teammates and he covered for them.
Everton do not possess that degree of organisation.

We seem to have a better shape without him as I found Mee would sit over the pitch to his side more always ready to cover him - with Tark in Mee seems to be in the more natural CB position on his side. Seems like Mee trusts Tark more not to make a simple mistakr than he did Keane.

Geeeez, absolutely scathing attacks on Keano on that messageboard. I think it's been very unfortunate for him to join Everton at this time while they look absolutely lost. However good player you are, you can't fit in to a squad smoothly when there is so much unrest about the place.

Re: Oh dear! Michael
Keane did very well for us after he settled in, but how many times but he really exposed? He looked very solid as part of the two banks of four, he was good in the air, had a bit of pace and his confidence on the ball made him stand out. I am not sure who would look good stuck next to Ashley Williams with that midefield in front of him, but £40m plus for him and Gray looks like cracking business.

Re: Oh dear! Michael
I find it a bit strange that he would fit straight back into, and be an integral part of, a top 7 team with a rock solid defence yet can't even play football in a bottom 3 team. That probably shows the vital importance of the team spirit SD goes to great lengths to instil. On that showing I very much doubt SD would entertain an approach from that burst-bomb of a club. Also it looks like at least one of the 3 relegation slots is now filled.
Re: Oh dear! Michael
If you leave your back 4 exposed you concede goals, it's as simple as that. We defend from the front - whether it's Barnes, Wood or Vokes up top. Everyone puts a shift in, does the donkey work and it's paying dividends. The difference in players like JBG and Brady since they first signed shows just how much importance is put on working for the team. Whenever I see Keane he always seems to be stepping out of his back 3 or 4 to try and challenge a player the defensive mids should be dealing with. You can't do that at the top level because a simple pass beyond him takes him out of the game. He was never exposed in the same way for us.
I still think Everton have the basis of a decent team when everyone is fit, they just need to fill a couple of gaps!
Pickford
Coleman Keane NEW Baines
Schneiderlin Gueye
Mirallas Sigurdsson Bolasie
NEW
Nothing up with that sort of team. The two defensive mids should offer the defence cover but allow the full backs to push on and support the attackers. They're missing a Lukaku type striker and a dependable Ben Mee type CB.

I suspect Sean makes it very clear what each player's role is. No confusion...everyone knows what everybody else is doing. Simple.
Re: Oh dear! Michael
He's absolutely sh**e and definitely not the best English centre half or future England captain like some idiots on here were saying. Some on here were actually saying Keane's a better footballer than Stones Hilarious really
Re: Oh dear! Michael
Ashley Williams is a good defender, has been throughout his PL career. Are you mad?
Where's the boy wonder who's 10m transfer and 200k a week wages were possibly the business of the summer?
I'm still looking forward to cleaning up from my bets on him not hitting 12 league goals even though he takes every free kick and penalty.
The under 20 in all comps is already all but in.

Re: Oh dear! Michael
Last season one of them was playing in a settled team with a regular centre back partner and protection from his midfielders and a keeper behind him he could trust.KRBFC wrote:He's absolutely sh**e and definitely not the best English centre half or future England captain like some idiots on here were saying. The other didn't have a regular partner at CB, the goalie was a liability and he wasn't getting much help/protection from midfield.
The roles have been reversed this season.
Put Keane in a settled team and with a manager who knows what he's doing and everything would be fine, you know that much is true.
Everton are carnage right now and most of the team look bloody lost.

Re: Oh dear! Michael
MK had a few dodgy moments for us but his good moments more than made up for that and he was immense overall.
I think the problem is collective rather than individual BUT he is going to have to turn into Bobby Moore for those fans to change their opinion, I read 5 pages and only found one person supporting him.
Everton and the fans are presumably blind to the fact their coaching staff are obviously inadequate.
