Yeah, lad didn't deserve a boo in my eyes. He was a fantastic bit of business for us in all respects.

To be fair, it was a fairly muted "Boo" by a minority.

Got a few claps and a half arsed ole ole when he came on, but did we expect any less?

I neither cheered or booed. Don't see the point

Didn't cheer nor boo. Cheering would only spur him on. I, for one, am not fussed that he left but delighted we signed him in 2015

He got a decent clap as the subs walked on pre match, after that he is an opposition player, although to do it when he entered the field would have warranted an ear cup should he have scored...

Then imagine the uproar on here :o

Thought he was absolutely unplayable when he came on, changed the game.

A must for the World Cup in Russia.

We should have cheered him on - he was amazing for us.

I would have loved him to score .... Probably would have celebrated more than when Arfield bagged.

Wow - you’d have loved him to score against us. Who do you support.

I thought he did well for us, although hugely frustrating. I gave him a little clap, as did those around us- and then ignored him.

It's embarassing giving the opposition grief - so we should actively support them I think.

Any player who has ever driven through Burnley should get celebrated..... No matter who they play for now.

Felt no attachment to the lad to give any crap about him. Those (me) who booed have every right to boo a player if they feel.

Did not understand the chants condemning him for being greedy.

Why do they think he left Brentford for Burnley?

Surprised to witness an ex Burnley player who scored a winner against Rovers get booed by a few

Good reaction from the crowd. If it hadn’t have got to him he would’ve acknowleged the CFS walking off.

Good championship striker poor in the prem. happy clappy support today from fans who were singing ‘he’s one of our own’ at jay rod last season then he nearly scored against us.

@CFS, what in your personal oppinion did you boo him for? And not the other 11 players on the Watford team? Not having a go just genuinely want to understand your mind set?

In my oppinion, he was instrumental for us the rebound / championship winning season with key goals and then we sold him for a profit. Wasn't a great player for us in the PL but was a stepping stone for us and a team. I'd clap him anyday of the week...

I'm not advocating clapping the guy I don't personally like or rate him but the greedy ******* chant was just pathetic. I have to recognise his goals that helped get us up therefore it was just a case of ignoring him for me.

He got a clap before the game and a bit of stick during. The Burnley way.

I would be a bit miffed if I were a Watford fan as he only clapped the Burnley side of the CF when he entered the pitch.

Personally don't think he deserved the boos or the "there's only one greedy *******" chants.

Did the job he was paid to do for us very well, got a much better offer and decided to do that job somewhere else, as a paid professional who wouldn't?

He's doing ok financially, we made a few bob out of the deal and we're not doing too badly without him, what's the beef?

As we left the ground I asked the same question. I don't think he did, unless it was when the ball was bouncing in and out of our box a bit.
I don't think he ever had the ball under control.

I did get slightly worried about that ball over the top and Gray getting in front of Tarky.

I neither clapped nor booed such is my ambivalence towards a player who did a very good job for us at the level below but one who also made no effort to connect with the fans and was clearly a bad egg.

I was looking forward to being reminded of his poor first touch but unfortunately in 15 minutes he didn't have one.

He was offered an improved contract. He didn't sign it because Watford were offering more. he left to go to a club in the same position as us and a possible rival in a relegation scrap simply for the money. So the greedy ******* chant is fair game - exactly like Shackell.
