Support today ..
People love to start threads championing our atmosphere and how good it sounds - today was the complete opposite.
Got to a point in the 2nd half in the CFS today that we decided to sing to a pigeon after 50 minutes of failed attempts of anyone singing..... CFS is getting worse every week it seems atmosphere wise.

Agree with the sentiment but against arsenal was the best for a long while to be fair.

Palace? ********. Their ‘ultras’ gave up as soon as we scored last season.Saxoman wrote:Yes, rubbish home atmosphere, like most clubs, except Newcastle and palace.

It certainly is lacking, lacking the likes of Aldershot, Maidstone and Hereford, oh, the atmosphere back then.....Longside4evr wrote:A couple of outbursts all the match and that was it very poor atmosphere today I flew over from Spain to take this one in and the Turf is certainly lacking something these days

Re: Support today ..
Exactly this. That was going at a decent pace as well for a while. Until some wanted to sing at 300mph. Some wanted to clap at 300mph. And some wanted to sing two songs at once. (Op no less) .Milltown1882 wrote:15 mins of Sean Dyche’s Claret and Blue army, shame half the stand gets bored and wants to sing at 300 mile an hour
Singing at a pigeon just ended any hopes of any atmosphere at all. It ws nowhere near as bad as made out before that point. In fact hes probably started this thread to wind me up. Singijg at a pigeon worked anyway

Re: Support today ..
Probably will be for you as I like looking how and why we lost and working out where and what went wrong or how a team broke through our systematic approach to defending and closing down.Jimbob wrote:Well why come on this forum moaning about atmosphere ffs we won 3 more points on the board do you just like having a moan about Burnley I'll keep a watch out for you on here for when we lose could be a good read !!
I'll look out for when we do to call you an idiot back too though for no reason.

Re: Support today ..
It certainly is lacking something, as this argument comparing the lower league battles we had with home support being as much as away support at timesPimlico_Claret wrote:It certainly is lacking, lacking the likes of Aldershot, Maidstone and Hereford, oh, the atmosphere back then.....
Then you would amongst all that get a bumper gate the terracing used to vibrate with the noise back in them days believe me.
Going to these grounds used to be such a good day out it really was if you talk to fans from that era
No I would not change them days for todays dizzy heights cos the football on show is excellent and we have evolved from them days ten fold but the atmosphere is definitely lacking the value of what we are witnessing today.

Re: Support today ..
I think the OP is on a wind up seeing as every week someone whinges about the atmosphere, generally the ones who sit in the family stand watching you tube videos of European flare waving Ultras.

Re: Support today ..
I sit in the JHU close to the Cricket Field stand. The support has been poor all season.
Strangely yesterday was the best atmosphere for a long time. Even had some singing starting up along from us where the Cricket Field lads used to gather. I'd love to see us get back the atmosphere we used to generate in that first season back up, but we're a long way from that.
Big time Charlies

Re: Support today ..
I got shot down for making a similar observation a couple of games back but it happens after almost every home game which says fairly comprehensively the home support is a let down.
Fact is we're doing better than most of us can remember in a lifetime supporting the team and perhaps better than any of us will ever see in the rest of that lifetime.
We get told that the atmosphere improves whenever the team give us something to get excited about - that's definitely happening but as supporters are we really fulfilling our end of that agreement?
I reckon it will resonate with most when we say we want the atmosphere to match the high standard of the football. When it does we all go home having had a far more fulfilling afternoon all round. How many flat games which we nick can you remember as distinctly as the hammering where a packed away end has sung their heart 's out? Those shows of solidarity with our team are special and the source of claims that Burnley has some of the best fans about (ahem).
The reasons it is still crap could be many but we can't blame the team any longer. They're doing their bit at home and we ain't. It really is that simple.
Get off your hands and give this wonderful side the recognition it deserves. Show them that as Clarets we will back them no matter what. We did a much better job of cajoling them when we were in a relegation scrap. There's no excuse anymore, make some bloody noise.
Our brilliant manager is working minor miracles here and we don't have any unique song for him or really acknowledge his brilliance. We have the best team of players in decades and many big players don't even have a song.
Rather than criticise folk for making a valid observation, let's try and contribute towards giving this side the support it thoroughly deserves.
