Stoke fans
I know there wasn't many of them, but they showed us how to fill the cricket field stand with noise, why can't we perform this meagre feat, thought it was funny when one of our fans produced a rattle, and the Stoke fans give it " What the F**k is that"

Ah!!! Burnley in December. Your club wins and goes to 4th in the table, and a civil war breaks out among the home support.

Re: Stoke fans
Stoke are always very vocal. They have one particular song the cup winning side brought out for the 1973 league Cup final, and still sing the song to this day.
Poor turnout last night though, one of the worst in 46 years of watching Burnley v Stoke games

Re: Stoke fans
What a horrible night wether wise to get fans up for it. It’s hard work when you’re in the top tier and the rain and wind is hitting you I the face. Horrible.
Anyway, Stoke fans were loud when they sang Delilah a couple of times, but that was it? What did they show us?
Burnley fans drowned them out, and were far louder as you’d expect with more fans, loads of times during the game. This thread doesn’t make sense from a Longsider’s perspective.

Re: Stoke fans
Why do they sing that stupid Delilah song? Most of their team is made up of foreigners who wouldn't have a clue what the words are. Do they think it would inspire some bloke from Eastern Europe or Africa on a wet Tuesday night.bfcjg wrote:Where they singing Burnley songs ?TBH apart from Delilah and You dont know what youre doing to Hughes I didn't hear them in the JHL.
EDIT, I think Topclaret may have answered that.

If this was post-apocyliptic and we were determining which cage to put you lot in, the cage to be eaten, or the cage to use as slave labor and breeders, you lot would be mincemeat at this point

I was surprised when I saw that figure because there looked a few empty areas last night, so all in all with the fact that Stoke brought a poor following, in the circumstances it was a decent crowd for us. Atmosphere understandably not as good as some of the other games but other than Stoke singing Delilah a couple of times, that was it from themUpTheBeehole wrote:19,909 on last night

Re: Stoke fans
Not a fan of the singing of 'you what' after every chant. Or shouting handball after every non handball, or ironically shouting oooh! When they have a shot on target. makes us look like a bunch of thick chavs.
That being said. Better that than sitting on your hands!
Also, I love that we are starting to sing Sean Dyches claret and blue army for a long time instead if twice then done!
Atmosphere was flat yesterday but game was dire to watch in fairness.

Spot on with your first paragraph. The handball one is embarrassing ....then we end up shouting for it at every opportunity when they supposedly handle.

Re: Stoke fans
Please don’t tell me you believe in fairytales? That was the tickets sold figure, but looking at the stands (I was in the Longside) there was 15-16,000 on the Turf last night with less than 1,000 Stoke fans at a guess. Okay, it was an oddity with it being a poor night fixture, near Xmas, freezing cold and blooming wet, but there were nowhere near 20,000 inside that ground last night. I wish Clubs would just all post the actual figure.UpTheBeehole wrote:19,909 on last night
Re: Stoke fans
I know it wasn`t a sell out last night, but do you honestly think that 6000 more people could have fit in Turf last night??

Re: Stoke fans
Yes. Jimmy Mac was half full. At best slightly more, so there’s 2,500 seats. 1,600 spare in the away end of the CFS gets you to 4,100.
Then you have the Bob lord which had a minimum 1,000 spare seats. Gaps everywhere.
Couldn’t see the Longside but there were gaps all around me in the upper tier, and the lower tier had its usual spaces for a midweek game, so yeah, 6,000 no problem, and probably more.
Very unusual to see so many seats spare, and I haven’t seen that since Fulham in 2015-16, but the weather likely explains it.
