Certainly should be. If that was on one of our players we`d be baying for blood.

Anyone who should be reprimanded should be knockheart. The way he went down for arfields booking hitting the floor rolling round, then as soon as arfields booked hes up on his feet.

Thought he came across well.
Needs to learn strikers are cheats and will go down with touched with a feather on their nuts.
Was turning away from him when his elbow was near his tummy. Was going to go down as it was a two feather touch.

How on earth could Tarks have avoided giving the penalty away? Murray just legged himself up. Tarks stayed up and jockeyed him

Fair enough if thats the case. But from my view at the other end i said to my mate dont go near him, dont go near him, hes gonna go down... and he did!

Stand to be corrected on the decision but from where i was i just knew ehat was coming. Defour got away with one just before.

Murray put his leg in a totally unnatural position in order to make contact with tarks.

neither are pens, first isn't even a debate, second Murray puts his leg up to make contact - glad the **** missed it - cheat

No-one in the ground, either Burnley or Albion, saw this elbow to the best of my knowledge. They were far more upset at Pope’s timewasting at every goal kick.

Arfield didn't receive a caution. Taylor and Barnes were the only two Clarets to be cautioned.

He’ll probably get a ban coz the ref didn’t see it. Kane and Ali will both be playing on Saturday because the ref got it badly wrong. Not sure why that’s fair?

I'd be surprised if he doesn't get a ban for that. Stupid thing to do, I thought we didn't do childish stuff like that at Burnley. No matter what has happened previously you set it aside and get on with it, two wrongs don't make a right. Now we may very well be without our best centre half for 2 very tough games.

Tarks rightly took umbrage to Murray’s blatant cheating to win the penalty and gave him a good old fashioned dig in the ribs in return. Personally I’m all for a bit of that and would like to see more of it in the modern game.

He'll be out for a couple of games, silly boy. The penalty was very soft though so I understand if he wanted to give Murray a reason to go down! Will be a big loss for us.

Dyche is right saying their lad should be done for diving as well though. That was a disgrace.

The penalty wasn’t soft , it was blatant cheating and an obviously incorrect decision.

Why do we continue to use euphemisms like”soft” and “contact” and “had a right to go down” to cover up diving?

I agree with everything you said Scouse. The FA panel want to judge that incident in context; as in MURREY IS A CHEAT

I was doing the same- saw it coming and Tarks is still learning not to get too tight. As brilliant as he has been, he still defends a little too "physically", given all of the diving that goes on. Easy to say from the armchair, I know.

I have the benefit of seeing 8 replays on NBC as I watch each game- absolute cheating from Murray, pushing his leg back and hooking it between Tarks'.

I imagine "Subscribe to Sky Sports Premier League from just £18 a month" has something to do with the nomenclature to which pundits subscribe, subconscious or otherwise. There's a brand to protect. It's all nonsense, obviously. Who would pay £8bn to watch the world's premier divers? Gotta' keep the sport respectable, like.

The penalty was blatant cheating, the standard of refereeing has nosedived over the last few years. I think the recent obsession with stamping out diving has made the referees look even more clueless. The Tark incident is stupidity and deserves a ban, its no surprise most on here don't think so yet would be the first ones crying if it was the other way around.

hope nothing comes of it but he definitely deserves a ban and a big one for what he did, shocking behaviour.
Murray did initiate contact which to me is a dive but he sucked tarks in.
Doesn't cover up the fact like the last two victories did that we are struggling creatively without brady

A comparison was already made on another thread but seems unfair he'll get banned and Alli and Kane won't.

No doubt he deserves a ban, but a sly dig to the ribs isn't exactly going to end a career. The other 2 were shocking tackles and potentially could have ended a season, possibly even a career.

What Murray did was worse than a dive. Blatant cheating putting his legs between Tarks to make it look like a trip.

The elbow was stupid by Tarks, especially inside the penalty area but I don't believe it was that hard and Murray going down like a sack of spuds was just milking it to try and win another penalty. Murray missing the penalty was the highlight of the match for me. It's called just desserts :)

That elbow wasn't deliberate, he was just trying to get some leverage to spin away, Murray was too tight to him and got in the way. Dropping like a sack of spuds over "contact". Shocking. Too many people on here wanting our own player banned.

I've seen it on TV and to say it wasn't deliberate......

I hope our club do the right thing and fine Tarkowski for his stupid elbowing, perhaps even dropping him for one game to bring the point home. It's irrelevant what went before. That sort of behaviour is completely unacceptable for someone in a Burnley shirt.

Assume that's a really poor fishing attempt.

Tarks clearly still annoyed at Murray's blatant cheating decided to take a bit of retribution. Just not sneaky enough with it and may well get a retrospective ban. But a big one and shocking behaviour? Please...............

Tarkowski said in his interview that Murray is a good actor and , although it is not the description I would use for him , he is correct . Murray was obstructing Tarks and trying to push him in the opposite direction , Tarks was doing what he could to get away and gave a gentle dig. The penalty was blatant cheating and the offside is also very dubious for me , after the last few games I am still waiting for the roundabouts to even these big decisions out.

I suspect that sort of thing happens tens of times a game but if someone goes down like Murray did and the cameras pick it up, you are certainly at risk of a ban. Far from guaranteed - will depend for a start on whether the ref saw it, irrespective of the fact he may have deemed it less of a foul than it actually was.

Bit daft from Tarks. He didn't need to do it and he seems to have let his emotions from the penalty get the better of him.

Tarks should be jailed for GBH; an horrendous violent attack on an innocent passer-by. That elbow must have caused some serious damage for a man of great integrity such as Murray to be laid flat out and nearly require treatment. Football has become such a dangerous game; what if Tarks had had a knife ? FFS, can only imagine what is being said on the BHA forum.

I'm not advocating a return to Sounessesque 'tackles', but is this not being blown out of all proportion ?
