THE stereotypical, crap, plastic ground.

Abysmal acoustics. Plastic atmosphere and buildup. 5 miles out the centre, awful to get to and even worse to get from. (Although dodging the train and getting the bus was slightly better and free)

Would absolutely hate Burnley to go down that route.

Every home game must feel like an away game. That said, have they ever had a home?

On plus side was relly critical of their fans last time. This time they were the polar opposite. All a decent bunch we met. Probably helped we didnt score late and have barton but its no wonder there was trouble there last time. Proper bottle neck.

Only good thing is keeping the bar and kisoks open post match. Wouldnt mind us doing that.

One of worse grounds in the league. Actually probably the worse. Slightly worse than swansea and leicester.

Negative for me was the crap phone signal.

I think the ground is located well and we got the train in and out from Lewes really easily, so no issue there.

The ground itself is shiny enough and for a club that has been homeless in recent memory etc it's decent enough.
The acoustics were naff but that's not an issue for me.

The chicken, gammon and leek pie gets a 10/10 rating from me and even the price isn't an issue.

Disappointed to see just one screen inside for fans to watch.

Overall they can have a 8/10 for a matchday experience.

Haha I had the same pie as Sidney1st. I had a pie& pint after the game just to kill a bit of time until I left the ground for the 17.32 train to Lewes. £8 I think the pie & pint deal was- seems reasonable for good quality IPA and pie at a big sports event.
I like the seats/leg room there and the facilities (bars/bogs/space) in the concourse seem fine. The stewards always seem decent (especially having recently had some problems when Palace visited). The idea of keeping bars open there after the game to help slower dispersal of the crowd seems good.
It's not ideal that you cant walk to the stadium from a town with a choice of pubs but there are trains every 7/8 minutes from Brighton or (preferably) Lewes.
Not one of my worst away experiences.

I understood that when they opened it, it was going to be state of the art, especially for away fans ! The lighting etc in the away areas could be changed to opposing teams colours, the screens (?) in the away Concourses would show highlights of the away Club's games, and they'd stock beers etc that would be local to away fans .....has any of this come to fruition ?

My seat was right behind the goal just below the level of the cross bar. The field of vision was exceptionally poor due the cross bar and the goal netting. Two thirds of the action action was obliterated by these. I was able to move to a seat further to my right to see a tad more but my day was spoilt.

Good seats in the box. Shame i didnt have a goal to celebrate. Harveys was a reasonable pint. Shame there was a fair few knobs in the other boxes who i dont think have ever watched a game of football in their lives.

Sussex by the sea being sung with passion was very quaint and made me smile!

The seats are the best I have sat on and after calling out "All sit down a few times" it permeated the brains of everyone down from me and we all sat down and got the joy of a padded seat and warm bum.

I like the architecture of the stadium. It is different to many. I don't like being at the wrong end for the train back to Lewes. I would not want Burnley to leave Turf Moor, ever.

I’ve been twice before and it’s my favourite “new” ground. West Ham is the worst by a country mile.

As we were leaving at the end I said that the Amex was probably the best of the out-of-town stadiums I've been to. Transport is pretty convenient (queued for less than 10 minutes for the train out and walked straight onto a train on the way back after a few pints in the ground), food and drink are good (barely any queues, tasty pies and good beer; I've not been to any other ground with 4 different bitters on tap) and stewards and staff were friendly enough. Plus quite like the sky sports and a couple of pints after the match option.

I'd always prefer a town centre, walkable ground but for an out of town one the Amex is better than most. If I was going every week then it would probably get annoying but for once a season it's fine.

Finding myself agreeing with both sides of the argument on this one.

I don't particularly like the ground and getting there and out again is a pain that I certainly wouldn't want to have to do every week as their fans do. This time we used Brighton rather than Lewes on advice from turfytopper. The queues were longer but it was certainly better for us with then going back up to London.

The music is Good Old Sussex By The Sea which I find amusing, but probably better than Red, Red Robin at Charlton.

Looks a very strange ground inside but certainly better now than it was when we first went.

I have always wondered why clubs close their bars in the second half.

I do remember Chelsea keeping theirs open (or reopening) through extra time however

As for travelling to the ground. Forget that every week. In worse possible location at the side of a very busy motorway / dual carriageway.

Must have only been expecting 7k a week on.

Keeping the concourses open must definitely help with the flow though.

We went lewes last time but brighton this. That said we needed to get back to london bridge from brighton. And just about made it with 3 mins to spare in order to get to kings cross for our 20:05 to Leeds.
