Re: Wells
Sh!t, I've gone and broken my silence which I promised myself I wouldn't do tonight - preferring
to wait until tomorrow when I have calmed down a bit.
Oh well, so much for restraint. Off to bed now as will be up early in the morning with my 3
year old grandson.
Goodnight all.

No you are not, you are slagging off a player with no other reason than to draw comment from football fans, you are not one.

Re: Wells
He's returned from an injury lay off and played this level for all of 10 minutes in a game where his team mates couldn't retain the ball. Might be a tad premature to be writing him off.MDWat wrote:Totally agree. Played billy big ******** kicking Vertonghen from behind, shirked two challenges and lost the ball twice. Played last ten minutes of a game we had thoroughly been outplayed in and seen plenty of sub par performances in, yet that is enough to write him off completely. Unbelievable.

you need to be able to think back if you are serious about rubbishing a footballer who entered a malestrom, then decide to ridicule him for being poor.

On another thread you say you always stay to the end to support your team ‘ala Uber fan’ and now you’re lambasting a 10 minute debut, 0-3 down against a top drawer side.Steve1956 wrote: The worst 10 minute cameo appearance by a Burnley player ever, he looked like a lost 12 year old boy
To make a point of it and start a thread is a bit sad to be honest.

Re: Wells
A bold claim I hope you can back it up with facts - newspaper reports for the past 150 years, radio archive recordings that kind of thing.
In my opinion there are likely to be at least 10 worse cameo appearances from the 1980s alone.

Re: Wells
Even my 11yr old lad remarked when he was coming on 'what a time to make your debut'.
3-0 down system gone to cocktail with three strikers on. Teams confidence gone. Nobody wanting the ball.
P.S I once saw Ronnie Jepson come on for the last 15 minutes and not touch the ball, he just chased the ball around 5 yards behind play. Stan loved him though.

What a sad thread this is, he comes on for 5 minutes with us 3-0 down, the lad never had a chance so it's out of order slagging him off.

If memory serves me correctly, he came on as a sub midway through the first half, and was himself subbed shortly after half-time, - and not due to injury.

Yea your probably right only been going on the Turf for about 46 years nowhere near enough time to know Well's cameo was one of the shittiest debut's in our history.. IMO of courseClaretTony wrote:You haven't watched much football at Burnley then if you think that.
Re: Wells
Definitely harsh but even I can tell Wells isn't a PL standard footballer, now some will say ''well I'll trust Dyche and not you'' (which is a cop out) but Dyche did sign Juke and Sordell for a PL survival campaign and yes, I wrote them off as not good enough before they kicked a ball.
