Wells

What you are saying is utter boll-ocksSteve1956 wrote:Yea your probably right only been going on the Turf for about 46 years nowhere near enough time to know Well's cameo was one of the shittiest debut's in our history.. IMO of course
Between the fans on this board we could probably name literally hundreds of worse debuts than Wells' yesterday....not to mention that none of these would be against a side who had played as well as Spurs did yesterday.
Stop trying to justify your stupid statement and stay off the egg nog eh.

Are you suggesting he offered less on his debut than David Jones, Frederic Nimani, Stewart Hooper, Derek Adams,Patrick Bamford, Neil Edwards to name just a few?Steve1956 wrote:Yea your probably right only been going on the Turf for about 46 years nowhere near enough time to know Well's cameo was one of the shittiest debut's in our history.. I don't think he is suggesting that, I wouldn't think that even entered his tiny mind when he decided he was bored and would relieve the boredom with a spot of fishing.ClaretTony wrote:It’s Wells, not Well, but are you suggesting he offered less on his debut than David Jones, Frederic Nimani, Stewart Hooper, Derek Adams,Patrick Bamford, Neil Edwards to name just a few?
A decent few bites though and a waste of effort replying to such nonsense from quite a few.

Good old Fred Nimani, once linked with Real Madrid.

I think he might be more concerned with the abuse he’s got following his behaviour yesterday.Steve1956 wrote:Patrick Bamford is sat at home now on Xmas eve bawling his eyes out with you suggesting he was crap for us!
Re: Wells
Patrick was the striker we lacked last year, link up play is excellent. If he would've actually been given a chance here he'd have been very good for us especially this year. He's talented with the ball at his feet and holds the ball well.ClaretTony wrote:I think he might be more concerned with the abuse he’s got following his behaviour yesterday.

Re: Wells
The fact that it was a debut in the Premier League against Spurs makes the OP irrelevant in relation to players in the mid to late 80's and quite frankly ridiculous but to add to the joviality as its Xmas Eve :
Ade Akinbiyi didn't even last 10 minutes.
The second fastest debut sending off in the history of football, he lasted all of two minutes before being given his marching orders for a head butt.
That's just one off the top of my head that immediately emphasises the short sightedness of the OP. You can also add Brian Chippendale, David Jones (mark one) and Mark Caughey without a moments hesitation. In actual fact there are too many to name from the 80's at levels 3 and 4 that make this thread obsolete.

Re: Wells
Naaki needs to get a start and play at least a full game and then still he may need time to settle.
Agreed Sean did sign dross in Sordell and Juke wasting cash .I am still not convinced on the reason for buying Westwood as he does look poor but we desperately need to replace non tacking Scott Arfield in January
But the manager saw something in these players and a reason to play them.
I hope though we use all our squad over Christmas .
We do need to sign Brady and Arfield replacements in January to keep moving forward.

Re: Wells
So they aren't winning because they aren't playing Bamford??
Or the manager was toss and couldn't set his team up.
Same with what happened at Everton where you decided it was all Keane's fault
Clueless or trolling, which is it?

Nah, nothing. I’m a big Arfield fan. I’m judging Wells on the numerous times I’ve seen him play, that’s all. Not sure why people are getting upset about it. Doesn’t mean I don’t support him when he’s on the pitch!Indecisive wrote:Out of interest did you see much of Arfield at Huddersfield as well before he came here?

Re: Wells
I saw plenty of Bradford City when Wells played up top for them with Hansen to know he will only be successful if played with Vokes or Barnes. To say he is or isn't of this level is unfair until this happens. Personally I think he isn't at our level, but let's just See!
Re: Wells
Leaving a player like Bamford out at that level is stupidity, the kind of stupidity which hurts you in the long run and ultimately leaves you jobless. I have no idea what Keane has to do with this, he's utter toss we've already established that.Sidney1st wrote:So they aren't winning because they aren't playing Bamford??

You're stating that Boro are toss because they aren't playing Bamford and that we needed someone like him too.KRBFC wrote:Leaving a player like Bamford out at that level is stupidity, the kind of stupidity which hurts you in the long run and ultimately leaves you jobless. I'm relating it to you stating Everton were toss and it was pretty much Keane's fault when it wasn't.
In the cases of both Boro and Everton it's down to a failure of the manager to set up their teams, not individual players being in or out of the team.
So I'm going with clueless and not trolling...
I'm assuming you're unaware Keane got motm in their last game?

You've based your opinion on Wells playing for someone else, which is fair enough.
If Vokes and Barnes played for another team I'm pretty sure we'd be saying (I would anyway) that they weren't good enough for this level.
It's the manager who gets the best out of these players, so maybe he can do it for Wells?

I think maybe the lad needs at least one full game before we loan him to Fleetwood or Morecambe!

He must be a world superstar if he got 1 motm award in 3 month, I expect Real Madrid will come knocking very shortly....Sidney1st wrote:You're stating that Boro are toss because they aren't playing Bamford and that we needed someone like him too.

Btw Keane didn't get man of the match either, Jagielka did.
Jagielka the superstar MOTM to Real Madrid and the MOTM runner up Michael Keane to Barcelona.

Keane obviously not the official motm match but probably a Sky pundit motm.
Liverpool Echo reckon Keane has gone back to basics of solid defender rather than trying to be the next cultured centre back. He was so caught up with trying to play it out from the back that he was forgetting what got him signed in the first place - block, intercept....

How anyone can judge a guy brought on with 10 minutes to play in one of the poorest team performances for a good while is beyond me. The whole team was never at the races all evening and Spurs were totally rampant.

Who cares, he won't make it at our club, another panic buy and he was injured, Championship/League1 player at best, move on his debut was shite and it was an ideal time for Wells to show us something when everyone else was crap he didn't he was lost,no future at this club andwill dissapear quicker than that dead loss we bought from Boro a few seasons back can't even remember his name he was that shite

Why do some people insist on being negative about a particular player. Virtually every single player on the pitch today (and the manager) has been written off at some point, by someone. It gets right on my t1ts tbh. UTC!

Sam's pushing for a start and hopefully that will happen soon. I'd like to Sam and Wells play a couple of full games together.
