Proud to be a Claret

Post by ecc » Sun Dec 24, 2017 10:23 am

Yesterday was bloody hard and depressing. But I was only watching on the Internet so it was nowhere near as hard to watch and take for me in comparison with the Clarets who were at TM and who had paid a lot of money to witness it.

I can "blame" individuals for certain mistakes but I don't want to.

The broader picture is that our players and manager have given us an amazing year. That, in my humble opinion, is what matters most.

I have never been prouder to be a Claret.

Could not agree more.

Burnley are 7th, 85 clubs sit below us.

Those down the road are 38 places below with a £120m debt.

From my user name and all those there that day not one of us, in their wildest dreams, could have expected the progress the last 30 years have brought.

Well said. We came up against an excellent Spurs side and an even better striker that just clicked yesterday. That we shared the points with the same side away from home earlier in the season shows how far we've come - with a smaller squad, injuries and truncated Xmas fixture schedule we can't expect to maintain those levels in every game - and a but if luck with the key decisions swung the balance of this game in our opponents favour too. We move on.

Good man ecc, I fully agree and we need to keep yesterday's performance in perspective. We would have all settled for 32 points at Xmas back in August. CT sums up the season so far in today's Observer, 10/10 for our manager and not much less for the players.

I wrote that last Sunday having got back from Brighton, but I gave him 9.9/10. They've reworded the last para too and the mistake isn't mine :D Well done Observer. :D
