Penalty awarded?

Post by burnley007 » Tue Dec 26, 2017 8:02 am

It's 13/5 at Paddy Power for there to be a penalty awarded today.
Free money.

I can’t even comprehend my anger
It’s building already
Started against Arsenal
Brighton didn’t help
Spurs was drink fuelled anger
If it happens today
Well
I say we sign Tom Daley it’s the natural progression

I'll go a tadge earlier this time, so not 22 mins.

So £10 on Martial or Lingard getting a 'controversial' (I mean by cheating) penalty in the 19th minute.
Odds please?

Burnley not to get a penalty should be around the 1/500 mark. When was our last one in the league?

Had a look through the results from last season, we actually scored 6 pens . The last one was away at Everton on 15/4/17.

To the credit of Jurgen, that is not true. He made a point of not diving in the Prem, to keep it real. It was the rest of the continentals that followed.

Cheating is the artform they seem to cheish most. Players like Alli think they are 'as good as them' just because they can cheat like them.

Up the honest Clarets and down with thsi rubbiish of "Well there was some contact, so he was entitled to go down". Whoever said that must have misread the rules.

No way Utd won't get a dodgy penalty today.

It's true isn't it - it doesn't say a penalty is awarded for contact it either has to be enough contact to prevent a clear goalscoring oportunity or else be deemed careless, reckless or with excessive force.

If you are going to go by the rule of any contact is penalty then any attacker contacting a defender or goalkeeper must be a defensive free kick - disallow all jumping headed goals where there is the slightest contact.

Abolish penalties and have done with it. Same for both sides.

Job done, nothing to see here. :D

There's also the part of the law that says a direct free kick/penalty is awarded when a player impedes an opponent with contact, which is where I think this "contact = foul" is coming from.

Surely if they are being impeded it's easier for the ref to see if they stay on their feet.
