we need to take one of these chances, Hudders will be better in the second half with the wind against them

I agree the notion, but for me the replay showed it came of the defender challenging Barnes.

I think getting Vokes involved in this game will prove hugely beneficial. The conditions and our supremacy will see Vokes get a goal!

We've played quite well at times without really testing their keeper I think.

Hendrick was offside from the sound of it.

bit of a waste back passing needlessly, we had a good chance with possession and plenty up, but nobody saw fit to get a ball in the box.

Tim Somers: Can and Milner could possibly be the slowest midfield pairing in Premier League history.

JMG: For 75 million, we could have bought the Burnley backline instead of Van Dijk, They have defensive organization and discipline. Something Liverpool really lack.

That quote shows that some fans of other clubs will just never, ever get it. They think that signing defenders will fix problems. What they need is a manager who knows how to implement an effective system.

You`re right of course BUT it can be said that in our back four we have players who do have the ability to self-organise during a game, communicators who will assess constantly. The likes of Liverpool have defenders who seem happy to just be individuals and have no concept of teamplay and a cohesive unit.

Fundamentally though, your point stands.

It Long had put the ball in the net from the free kick before Hendrick was given offside, would it have counted? Long looked onside, but it was hard to tell if he was given off or if the flag only went up on Hendrick. If so, Long should have buried it from where he was.

Yes, fair point. Although they are helped by the willingness of those in front of them to defend...make tackles, block shots etc. Liverpool have wonderful attacking talent in Firminho, Mané, Coutinho and Salah but whether they're willing to do the necessary work to cover their defence is another thing entirely. Thank goodness for Sean Dyche and his careful recruitment eh :)
