Gawthorpe
A cracking picture of the hall and full training ground, weren't we supposed to be getting an indoor dome facility somewhere to comply with academy status? If so where is it supposed to be?

Re: Gawthorpe
It doesn't look big enough when comparing to the pitches. There is a swimming pool in there and changing rooms etc.. also.randomclaret2 wrote:Its the grey building bottom left

Re: Gawthorpe
The part youre talking about runs off the grey gym building at 90 degrees....its got a grass covered roof so blends in at first glance

Re: Gawthorpe
Then they could play a match on the roof!! WOW! That must be what it takes to get Cat 1!

Re: Gawthorpe
It's the required size for a Cat 1 academy - indoor training areas aren't full pitch size.Quickenthetempo wrote:It doesn't look big enough when comparing to the pitches. There is a swimming pool in there and changing rooms etc.. also.

Re: Gawthorpe
Just shows how a well managed club can progress. To look back, I recall spending a week training at Brockhall when Blackburn trained there. There was one building with four sets of changing rooms, four of the more sensible patrons used to bring Tea and large trays of sandwiches down for the players lunch.....all made in the Hospital Kitchens.

When is Barnfield/Gawthorpe due to be completely finished?
Just wondered when all the work on the road towards the far training pitches and any other smaller bits of work is due to be complete.
Is the media centre building work all finished as well?

Media centre done bar some minor landscaping around it and The National Trust are going to build a wall across from the barn closing off where cars used to park in beside it as that bit apperently belongs to them. Not sue about the stuff over the bridge.

Re: When is Barnfield/Gawthorpe due to be completely finished?
I would hope that it would not be ever "complete" in a sense as it needs to continue to evolve to meet our requirements as we continue to develop. In this sense complete would indicate stagnation or decline

Re: Gawthorpe
Where's the AstroTurf/3g pitch in relation to this picture?
The one with the grass pitch slightly higher up.

Re: Gawthorpe
Looks like a fair old trek from the changing rooms to the outer pitches, especially when it's chucking it down!

Re: Gawthorpe
Was fortunate enough to be down there a few weeks ago.
The kids team that I coach had a coaching session down there along with some other clubs from around the area. It was held in the grey building which is bigger than it looks. There was easily over 100 kids there at the time.
Saw a bit of the “behind the scenes” areas as we went for a debrief at the end and it a very impressive area
