For Christ’s sake
Should have beat United.
Should have beat Huddersfield.
Should have drawn with Liverpool.
Shockingly unlucky week. So peed off.

Yes. However, the manner in which we have conceded late and seen obvious descisions turned down is infuriating.starting_11 wrote:Oooh but we were playing United you know

We were there for the taking today, glad it was a tired Liverpool reserves and not an inform City, Spurs or Chelsea as it would have been embarrassing

We should have got beat by Stoke.
We should have got beat my Crystal Palace.
I think things have pretty much evened themselves out this season.

Stop dribbling or your spaghetti loops will stain your jumper.

We were very shaky today, possibly tired but Conceeded sloppy goals against an average Liverpool display.
They certainly didn't play like they did against arsenal.

They got very lucky there. Certainly didn't deseeve the points. A worldy out of nowhere and a soft free kick conceded.

Same story as United. Soft free kick, 2nd phase goalBabylonClaret wrote:They got very lucky there. Certainly didn't deseeve the points. A worldy out of nowhere and a soft free kick conceded.
All down to not retaining the ball well enough and panicking.
Re: For Christ’s sake
Can't fault the fight and effort just all quality has been taken out of the side, the football has been far more direct over the last few games, far less control and it's like we've reverted back to last years football since Brady has been injured. Desperately need a quality left winger and a player to play in the hole.

Partially agree, we looked leggy as f**k. Think we should have had a little bit of rotation.MACCA wrote:We were there for the taking today, glad it was a tired Liverpool reserves and not an inform City, Spurs or Chelsea as it would have been embarrassing
Re: For Christ’s sake
May have altered the result diddly squat, but we were certainly below our usual energy levels, but we knew we didn't have the depth in August, and with a few first teamers out it shows.CoolClaret wrote:Partially agree, we looked leggy as f**k. Think we should have had a little bit of rotation.
I'd have started Vokes and Lowton and put in a few balls, as their keeper as dodgy as hell, but we rarely put him under pressure.
Re: For Christ’s sake
Is it really necessary to have the title thread as a Blasphemy? Are some posters unable to express themselves in some other way without causing offence? I am at a loss how some posters are able to sit in front of a computer and deliberately type out words that they know are offensive to some.
Long gone ( thankfully,) are the racist and homophobic comments that used to regularly feature on here and were described at the time as mere banter, but one group of clarets remain as being OK to gratuitously offend.

Christ wasn't a god though, just someone who convinced people that he spoke on behalf of a god.

Their 18 shots to our 13?
Their 5 shots on target to our 4.
Or maybe their 58% possession compared to last season's 80% when we beat them 2-0?

Yeh but this chappy Christ, didn't he think he was the son of some God or other? To be honest, I've never seen any footage of him on telly, so it's hard to judge

In all fairness the Bible wasn't put together until 4-500yrs after his death so it's hard to know what he said and how accurate it all was.Vino blanco wrote:Yeh but this chappy Christ, didn't he think he was the son of some God or other? Lots of old stories put together into a book and added to the alleged words of a long dead person/group of people.

Re: For Christ’s sake
Can't understand the moaning about the Unt game. They scored at the beginning of stoppage time, there was still 5 minutes to go, we hung on.
They had practically all the 2nd half at Old Trafford. It was a great point with key players missing.
Perspective seems to have put on a blindfold of late.

Re: For Christ’s sake
My vocal reaction was close to the title of this thread.
Our success has been mainly due to the fact that we are organised and solid at the back. But, why on earth are we so poor after 90 minutes ?
Yet another soft goal conceded.

Re: For Christ’s sake
It's good that we are upset at some of these results; just shows how far we have come in a year.
I'm gutted, but let's get this right, we are 7th in the biggest league in the world; not bad for a little old club like ours and with that I can still just about smile this evening.

Re: For Christ’s sake
People easily forget ,we’re a team of massively over performing championship level players ( with the odd exceptions) and under the brilliant stewardship of SD were mixing it with some of the biggest and best clubs in Europe ( 3 champs league sides in last 10 days) so the loaners do need to take a reality check and see the magnitude of what we’re achieving .Wonder how many teams are virtually unchanged for 4 games in 10 days?

Re: For Christ’s sake
The next level of our development is to eliminate that from our game - late goals, especially against the top sides - United and Liverpool in less than a week.
Given that our most creative player is out performances have probably been better than we might reasonably have expected. Today looked like a game too far but unless you are one of the big six it's very difficult to rotate and stay competitive - look at the team Stoke put out at Chelsea and then the plan backfired today.
One of the consistent things about this group has been the ability to improve collectively and work on weaknesses. Add to that our comfortable league position should signal a strong window when we can add to the squad and address some of the areas where we are looking thin.

To be fair Sydney I think you’ll find the New Testament was compiled approx 120-130 years after JC death( often argued it could be 70/80 with the first books rocking up 40-50 yrs after his death .
Il return to “pedantary corner”

Don't belittle people who have a faith - fellow Clarets supporters should respect other peoples views.
Re: For Christ’s sake
We deserved something out of today. At 1-0 down I said to my mate that we were still in it and there was a goal in us yet.
I'm really surprised Bardsley conceded such a naive free kick at that point in the game. Completely unnecessary.
