I could fault him on his failure to clamp down on the bin dippers time wasting which ultimately benefited them.
(Is this a marker of where we are that the opposition are using these tactics?)

Couldn't fault him at all today. No cards. Common sense refereeing

He didn't clamp down on the time wasting, but the crowd didn't do what happened to us at Anfield or Old Trafford and boo every goal kick/throw in.
Big sides rarely get booked for time wasting unless playing each other.

Interesting that the Liverpool fans found him to be "a homer" , "awful" , "falling over himself to give a foul every time a Burnley player fell over"

Not sure about this idea that not giving out cards indicates a good performance. There should have been a few yellow cards in that game and not dishing them out has an impact on the whole contest.Marney&Mee wrote:Couldn't fault him at all today. No cards. Common sense refereeing

Failed to apply the advantage rule on at least two occasions allowing Liverpool to get men behind the ball
Obviously forgot to put his cards in his pocket

Like MT03ALG, I marked him down a bit on A because of him failing to use advantage

Best ref on Turf this season. Could quite easily have given Tarks a yellow very early on, but as others have said he used his common sense and took the conditions into consideration. Definitely 23 in each category.

Re: RATE THE REF - Roger East v Liverpool
There is a guy behind us, who shouts out every game when the referee gives a mildly controversial decision against us.
His shout out is "Bloody rubbish ref get a (insert colour of opposition team) top on" did not happen till about the half hour mark yesterday, that would suggest the referee had a decent game.

Thought he was excellent. You have to be pretty hard faced as a Burnley Fan for criticising another team for time wasting.

Exactly, I thought he was poor, very weak and although he was a Jedi master of watch-tapping he added no time at all for all their shocking time-wasting.what_no_pies wrote:Not sure about this idea that not giving out cards indicates a good performance. In contrast with the way he handled the time wasting Pope seemed to get booked at Old Trafford with no fore warning whatsoever for any of our players.bob-the-scutter wrote:Exactly, I thought he was poor, very weak and although he was a Jedi master of watch-tapping he added no time a t all for all their shocking time-wasting.
